I'm very relieved to hear that someone else is not on a 2 week pre-op diet. Was starting to think my doctor was mistaken (although I'm still going to call and ask). I am having surgery on January 19th. Not scared, just very excited. I have my moments of apprehension, but the prospect of being healthy, and not fat anymore keeps me smiling 24/7!:tongue2:

January 21st, or is it the 23rd...one of the two at Reston Hospital in Reston VA. Looking forward to it but frightened of the diet...will be worth it in the end.

You look like you've got the graphics figured out. I can't find the directions on the site. I'd like to start the graph and enter my stats but, no instructions. Can you help. Thanks. Judyx3

I found out my surgery date yesterday - January 29th in Charlestown, Indiana. I am starting today to try to change my eating habits even though the pre-op diet doesn't officially start until 2 weeks before the surgery date.

This is my first post. I'm having a vena cava filter inserted on 1/9, then banding on 1/12. I'm more scared of the filter than the banding. Anyone had to have this? It's to prevent a pulmonary embolism (I developed DVTs after knee surgery 2 years ago and have permanent vein damage, making me at-risk for additional blood clots).

I'm almost half-way through my pre-op diet: 4 200-calorie Protein shakes a day, coffee, tea, Water, Crystal Light, sugar-free Jello.

It's been SO tough... I'm so hungry! But I'm committed to doing this and being ready on the 12th. My husband is so supportive, and has taken over food shopping and preparation. Whew!

Hey Teri! Just wanted to wish you the best of luck. I don't know anything at all about the other procedure. Sorry. :tt2:

you all will do great I was scared too, but besides the gas its not so bad.. Just keep thinking that this is the first day of the rest of your life....:}

I'll back up this statement. I'm just home from my banding on Friday. Long as you take your Gas-X strips, you'll be peachy. I'm using liquid Tylenol when I get achy and don't need anything more except reasonable after sugery pampering.

      I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
      I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
      Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

      Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

      Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
