Chris this is so exciting, can't wait to hear how it went.

I can't believe you took a picture:biggrin:

I'm wondering about Nicole too.

Oh what time is the hike? Too many pages to search. I have the directions saved on my desktop though.

also, can someone post the items I need again? I promise to write it down. Candra did you tell me you had a list? I don't have a thing. Actually my body pillow came today, still waiting for the other memory foam pillows.

Sorry, Jes, I don't have a list yet... I'm a slacker! I got my clear Liquid Protein shots for the first few days and thats about it - I already have a body pillow. Gotta get milk of magnesia (I keep saying that) some sugar free popsicles & sugar free Jello. I have lots of Decaf teas & broth already. Not really gonna get too much because this will force me to get up and out after the first two days or so. got my multi Vitamins & Calcium already too, been taking them for a while now.

I'm in hell ladies - all these cakes and sugar i'm hooked again and I have to weigh in on Monday with my surgeon - so scared to get on the scale.

Watching discovery health - plastic surgery for RNY patients. The skin is out of control! these surgeries are running about 40K. the ladies are getting thigh lifts, tummy tucks - breast lifts & bat wings removed - 40k for all that. Now, some Docs are cutting long lines down the center of the thighs and some are just cutting in the crease and pulling the skin up - it all depends on the surgeon as to how the scars are gonna be!

Jes, I think I'm still gonna go next Wed to the group in Richmond - hopefully Bev will be back and I can meet up with some of Dr. Fishers peeps to see how he does. Just want to be prepared.... Want to know how many CC's I'll get at surgery and how long I will hafta wait for the first fill.

Oh, gonna get some tylenol LOL maybe I can get some with codine in it (kidding)

Candra I'm in the same hell all of a sudden...had an order of McD's fries, what's up with that? My husband didn't want to wait for dinner so he ran out to McD's and on his way out I yelled for some fries and what does he do? bring them!

I'll try and make it to the group meeting Wed, but it may be tough since I'm off Thurs & Fri I may end up working late or something.

Hey girls, so Bri was SO excited! I told him to close his eyes and open his hands and I put the test in his hands. He opened his eyes and then looked right at me with HUGE eyes and said " Are you serious???" He was SO happy, he's been ready to have another baby since Soph was only a year old. It's been me that wanted to lose weight, then after failing at that wanted to have surgery. He's been SO patient and supportive and I just love him so much.

He keeps staring at me too! He says I look different, lol. When I went out to run errands tonight he said "Be careful with my precious cargo!" I thought that was adorable. <3

So tomorrow I'll call Liz and Dr. Baggs and get that over with, then go to Kaiser and get the urine test done there so I can be officially pregnant and get an appointment scheduled. I need to find out how many calories and Protein the want me to have and if I need to up my Vitamins. This is really happening!

Ok you will probably no matter what have to eat 1200.. so ur body isnt in starvation. And you will need an unfill im guessing.

So today was fun woke up way to early, drove mike to work, then went apt hunting. Did find one i liked and filled the paperwork out. Then went and printed out his VA info and got his offer letter, and then had him fill his out. We might be moving in on Friday depending on deposit amnt.. I love it!

Kick boxing classes! A gym with a class room to watch ur kids PLAY! 3 pools 3 spas, raquet ball, computer lounge, i am on a golf course. One of our HUGE things we will be in a 2/2 almost 980 sf on the GOLF COURSE, bottom floor. 2 balconies. Pretty nice, oh and another niiiice thing is the parking is 10 feet from our door. So ill know tomorrow.

What else, oh yeah i took the test last week after my blood ones, and well.. it was neg i was excpecting that and hoping for that because i am on an iud and if u get prego on it you have very high chances of miscarraige. I dont want a baby right now.. maybe around the holidays all depends on us..

Tina been thinking abou tyou all day.. Told my friend who is in daycare that cps is shutting she said"theyve been sayin that for years i dont believe it" i said IM SERIOUS THEY ARE.. i gave up lol.

Everyone else i miss you all and candra go to dollar tree for the stuff u have to take before surgery MM... They will also tell u waht to get at the class.

Ok i need to drink some Soup. Im kinda tight. Pb as soon as i have something of bready material. Ie bfast egg and bacon then tried pancake, bam.. it was just slime though, then lunch taco from taco bell didnt go down well... had a piece of auds tortilla and bam.. then dinner great great on rib meat then had a BITE of a hush puppie and bam. What the name of the place NIcole?? Exciting.........

I am headed to a meeting with the union this morning to find out where I fall on the list ane hopefully get some answers on what I need to do.................I was on this leadership committee between the union, management and social workers. ALthough that fell apart with the layoffs I guess we have to discuss the layoffoffs and make sure everything is done going according to senriority. The good thing (i guess) is that I will be able to see the list and hopefully figure out exactly where I stand.

It could be a long morning. I am so in need of a fill. I am up two pounds and it won't budge. Haven't been eating anything really bad just ............I don't know I must be eating more to gain two pounds.........just don't feel like I am eating bad...........I guess more than before the fill though............

Good morning my ladies!

Christine I am having sympathy pregnancy, I have been eating for 2 just for you! LOL, I have gained 5 lbs since the day before I left for Oregon, hopefully most of that is Water from eating carbs & getting the fat ol' liver again . . I mean, I have been horrible with what I have been eating, but seriously I have not been eating the 6000 calories a day it would have taken me to REALLY gain that much weight in that short of a time.

So back on track today - even though it is another birthday and there is good food all over this office, LOL! And NO good food at home, I am going to drive across town to Whole Foods at lunchtime today - instead of getting in 2 miles - don't know if that's a good trade-off or not. I can spend $15 but then I have zero $ to buy food before payday 6 days from now!! Grrrrr . . . . I HATE the budget, furloughs, health care costs taking $1300 a month - that's almost $400 per paycheck more than it was a couple of months ago! - and another mandatory 10% pending - union vote today. I HATE THIS STATE

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.
