Sheena that was a crazy weekend. I read through your blog....Glad you still going through with the surgery though. Next summer is a long time to wait. If you can just make it through the next six weeks............

You son looks alot like you.

I don't know if I will go to the 25th session or not but I guess I am. I will have to take the whole day off. I am taking the whole day off on Thursday but my appointment is at 9:15 so if I get home early I will go back to work.

I guess it all depends on if I have to wait seven weeks or not!! I might get the July group fill. But seriously I have to get out of jury duty that week just to make sure it doesn't overlap.

I may see you ladies this afternoon but I won't be able to stay. Too bad your not coming to Jonny's but seriously ladies there is nothing to eat for bandsters over there. I am gonna just pick at a salad and try to look like I am eating.......LOL.

candy when I moved stages my weight loss stopped and I have been going up and down on the same three pounds for weeks...........I sorta think it is called bandster hell and happens to alot of people!! I have no idea why I barely eat nowdays........

Don't give up Candra! Your body is rebelling & hanging on to Water in an attempt to protect itself from startvation . . this is, after all, medically-supervised starvation! Cut out the carbs & double your water, and you will lose 5! Are you logging EVERYthing you eat? I log every bite at www.caloriecount.about.com, every day.

Thanks Christine, good to know how long we will be there for . . . now does anyone have the address of the Pinole MOB? It's apparently too new to show up online . . . another 1/2 hour with Robin, oh joy she will want my food log again and I leave to camp out at the NASCAR race the Thursday before, then my daughter's wedding up north of Redding on Sunday, I won't get home until Tuesday and will be puffed up like a balloon from heat, salt, and (shhh) alcohol . . . and she'll want a food log??? Maybe I'll bring her one from the week before, since I won't be near a computer to get online & log what I eat. . . .

So my fill is working so far, my calories have been cut almost in half! The amount that I eat is also cut in half, lol. I am .2 lbs away from 80 lbs. lost this morning! WOO-HOO!!

Waiting for my fill .........I can't wait until I get full again and have some restriction.

I am having a really hard time eating this morning. Everything is making me nasaeous this morning. I woke up with a bad headache and really dark bags under my eyes My lymph nodes are swollen.........but I don't really feel sick, sick........just don't want to eat much either.........

I don't know what is going on.......................going to bed early tonight!!

I can't miss my fill so I really CAN'T be sick!! LOL!!

And maybe not being hungry band or not is not such a bad thing!! LOL.

Oh I have my gallon of Water out!! I always try to drink a gallon of water no crystal light the last couple of days before an appointment.............I don't know but it seems to make my weight level out no up and downs..........maybe it is all in my mind but it makes me feel proactive and in control to drink all this water!! Sometimes I think the Crystal light needs to be given a break!! :-) But I will be drinking it the minute I get out............maybe I should suggest Dr. Baggs provide crystal light at fills as his beverage of choice instead of water!! I will ask him if he got the bendy straws Christine. He is so gonna know I watched the youtube videos!!

I have to get my food log together tonight. Robin won't like everything on it...............but for the most part I am ok!! Salad...........oh to tell or not to tell that is the question!! Depends on how much I was to be disciplined!! LOL!!

have a great day ladies.........

Tina, Robin did not bust my chops for salad at all - I just told her when I handed her my log, that she would not like some of the things on there, but that I logged for myself, not for anyone else. She did pop me for soy slender soy milk (drinking my calories), for Atkins Protein Bars (feeding my head hunger), and for the few Snacks that I logged (we all know snacking's a no-no). And yes I logged them as snacks. I was starving!!! And I also explained that things like salads and Fiber One were to help me poop, for pete's sake - benefiber just makes me gassy. I told HER which things she would not like. I even had sunflower kernals on there - I eat them on top of sliced cucumbers - and all she said was "oh Jane, sunflower seeds are REALLY high in calories." So tell her, be honest! That's the only way she can help you. After all, she's not going to take your band away :-)

Riley, the address is 1401 Pinole Valley Road. But really, the address number is totally not necessary...you'll love it! After the Carquinez bridge you'll go about 5 miles and then take the Pinole Valley Road exit and get in the right lane to turn right at the light. After you turn right Kaiser is IMMEDIATELY on the right hand side and you just pull right into the parking lot. Easy peasy!!!

Good morning Christine!!

Actually I'm coming from the west, will be crossing the San Rafael/Richmond bridge & driving up from Richmond. Still looks pretty easy on Mapquest. It's just that time of day getting from Santa Rosa to Richmond . . . ay yi yi, in the middle of the day it is 1 hour but in traffic it is 2.5 hours just to get to Richmond! Coming home is even worse, but we will get out of there by noon so I'm not going to worry about that.

I was thinking about you on my walk last night, how you lost 4+ lbs. in a week after your fill! I will be lucky to lose 2 by the end of the week . . . it seems the more I lose, the harder it gets. Rats!

Its ok candy, Thanks for letting me know!!! Since your not going im not going to go either. I didn't hear anyone else say they could go.

I have a sore throat anyways, and we are flying out thurs so its better i stay home anyways i guess.

Riley i think i might use your way of keeping track. Does it tell you cals etc??? Also, I am 30 from goal and I also did 4 lbs last week and 2 the week before. But I agree it gets WAY harder the closer we get. But what is crazy is after my high cal meal yesterday it says im down another lb, but i dont count losses till monday.

I am so proud of all of us! We should all be at goal by xmas time.

I wish he would have given me more than 1cc at one of my fills!! I only got 1 each time, and only had 2 in there to start with . . .

So you saw how much I ate for breakfast, which I finished only like 90 minutes ago . . now I am hungry again!!! If I wasn't stuck at the main County permits phone line right now I would drink a liter of Water and go for a 20 minute walk, and that would at least stall my hunger for another hour, but I can't leave my seat. What to do, what to do??

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.
