Hey Nicole - I get like that all the time - menopaus perhaps LOL seriously, that's what use to happen to me before I got full on pannic attacs - I chalk it up to anxiety. You got alot going on!

believe me, the lewis' noticed! They just didn't know what to say like "you look great" but that would be like saying you looked like crap before. Or "you're so thin" but again, that's say you were so fat before. some people just don't know how to approach sensative subjects. but you best believe they're talking about you behind your back right now LOL but in a good way!!

10 pages of posts today. Is that a new record? I haven't had a chance to read any of them. I just got in from school. I won't be staying in that class, it was pure torture. Seriously. The teacher kept shouting and slamming his fists on the table. There are only 13 people in the class! Ugh. And work stuff is stressing me out. I've just had a rough day. Let's hope this "sleep it off" thing works and tomorrow is a better day!

I know I need to write my stuff down. Even the stuff everyone told us today, didn't write anything down and I sure I can't remember anything if I don't write it down.

Heather, that teacher sounds an awful lot like my boss!! he actually pulls his hair when he's yelling at me. I get to throw him out of my office though - kinda rewarding LOL. Get a good nights sleep and let us know how it worked out hahaha. Sweet dreams!

yea pre op was alot of stuff!! But you'll be so glad you have it.......I didn't want to get out and go shopping at all that first week. I had surgery on Monday and was out and on Sunday but only for an hour it tired me out to bad............so nice to have everything at home.

I also washed my PJ's and sweats and had them all folded and ready by the shower. So nice to just put on a clean pair after a shower without having to find them. Luck for me I had enough comfy PJ type clothes to last all week............that was one thing I was so glad I set out ahead of time...........a strange comfort thing.........than and I bought a new soft, soft robe pre op that I wore and slept with that first week......

Oh and if you have a lazy boy move it to where you can see the TV BEFORE surgery.........I didn't and had to beg one of my guest to move it for me post op.......so I could chill and watch TV. The first two days I could only LISTEN to the TV since no way I was moving that chair anywhere.........never mind I could barely get in and out of it..........LOL.

And don't lay on the couch to sleep when you get home from surgery!!! LOL> I did that and when I woke up like 6 hours later I realized I could not get off the couch......it took me 45 minutes of twisting and crawling to figure out how to get up without using my stomach muscles...........of course I don't have a man living here to pull me off the couch.........LOL. Lazy boy was the only way to go post op getting up and down.......still hurts but doable!!

Ah watch out for the cats that jump on your port!! My darn cat still does that and now it is not so bad but seriously why do they always find the exact spot where the port is??

Tamra, I've never been to this one but they usually do end right on time. we need to get you a new babysitter - I will have to recruit my niece and stepdaughter.

My husband set the DVR for me for Oprah. I'll watch it tomorrow, after the meeting.

Guess I'd better hit the hay too.

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
