Kaiser Richmond Pre-op

Yea when I was there Riley he said that they need to add more dates or something like that but that they haven't got the times all worked out yet.............

He said Kelly would call me in a couple of weeks to set something up. He said if I didn't get a call to call her in two weeks and make sure I am on the list........

Now for me since I am on an individual schedule right now.......thanks in part to me, myself and I.................I think I will have to remind them to add me to the group for September!! I want to get back on group schedule..........but I don't know I might just stay in individual since I am outta sync right now with the group..........LOL.

I am thinking it will only take 2-3 more fills till I get to my sweet spot again and than I am gonna try to go 2-3 months between fills if Dr. Baggs agrees with that.........

I think...........well I am sure I could have done WITHOUT the last fill!! LOL.

Riley you are at 5cc's and feeling good restriction that give me hope!! LOL!! I thought 6cc's were the magic number............

Ok gotta see what my daughter is up to. I hear her in the bathroom.............arrgghhh..........

I would be dead at 7+ like Chris and Nicole...............LOL. YOu girls rock the high numbers!!

My restriction right now at 5cc's is perfect - I hope it lasts! No getting stuck, no PBing so I actually "feel" it less, but don't get hungry anymore - even after eating carbs, which is a miracle! I can eat 2 cups of stuff like fruit or salad, but only 1/2 cup or a little less of something dense. Really enjoying the Quorn chik'n that Robin recommended, and it fills me good

Oh Riley I have some of that chicken but haven't tried it yet...........I have BBQ Sauce for it.

At 6cc's I only took 2-3 bites of protien and if I took another bite I was in trouble. But I could feel it going down and it was sorta uncomfortable. BUt I wan't hungry either. I was not even tempted becuase I knew it won't go down easy.

I think I was just a .25 to .5 to high. Close to sweet spot but just needed to play around with the numbers a bit more!!

So Riley if your still like this will you cancel the group fill or go anyway??

I'll be there!

I had heard about the pineapple or orange juice for when something's really stuck. Something about the acid of the juice attacking that food & letting it pass.

I'm so excited for Riley's 100 lbs! Woot woot!

He said he wanted to put in another .5 at the 2nd september "class," but if it's the same as right now I won't need it and won't let him do it! If I lose 10 more lbs though I might need it. That's also the day before I leave for the Lake Tahoe Marathon, and I sure don't want to be in trouble up there from being overfilled! So we will see. I am getting close to goal and losing a lot slower, so I should not need to get fills all the time anymore.

I forgot about bunco last night... funniest thing ever.

So there are a lot of the ladies in my bunco group who have some weight to lose. In the group of 12 there are like, 2 that are smaller than a 10. One of those 2 is apparently dieting. We were sitting at the table and one of the other ladies asked "How's the diet going" and, mind you I've lost 50 lbs and see these girls once a month, I thought she meant me and was trying to remember if I had mentioned anything to the group. Well she was talking to the thinnest girl of the group. And skinni-mini said "I gained 2 lbs so I'm bummed, but I've lost a total of 6 and I'm almost at my goal". Inside, I was laughing so hard... Really? 2 lbs. Ugh. I just think it's hilarious/annoying.

Go Riley!!!! 100lbs GOOD JOB!!!! Time to go buy a dress:)

So i went and got a trim today to stimulate growth mom said it would help. OH and the horse Shampoo she said is to shine and strengthen it doesn't promote growth.. She said to give my nioxin a break and try something with pearls or something that advertises stimulates, and tingles..

SO since she lives far away:( i went to wally for my hair cut, and she agreed about the shampoo and conditioner, and suprisingly didnt try to sell me ANY of their products!!! But all the hair dressers said a weave wont work for me my hair is to thin and it would show. They said to try to stimulate it twice a day with a brush or finger massage, and switch up the shampoo conditioner. And of course no product (not like i use any anyways) They said somethng about arsenic being in our DRINKING WATER!!! And it causes hair loss!!! So it makes since with the weight loss because we love our water!!!

DOnna i asked if a shorter shabby cut would look good and they said it would look funny.. because i wouldnt have enough hair to really do anything with, so it didnt matter if im long to my butt or short to my scalp.. So now atleast it looks healthy again, and im gonna work on massages:D

The scale is moving, its like i just had surgery or soemthing, hit the 170s lookin forward to the 160s.....

I am looking forward to seeing all my beautiful ladies today...

NIcole interesting that is why I didn't buy the horse Shampoo cause it said shiny and I have that stuff at home already.

My hair has gotten really wavey thought. Anyone else. I have more wave than ever. I am seeing some of mine coming back but it itches where is it growing back!! LOL.

Well getting ready to test my restriction with solids since my liquids are almost up. I know with liquids I have no restriction what soever. Solids we will see.........

Nicole if your losing so fast maybe you don't need a fill. Maybe your at your sweet spot!! Hard to know though. I don't get if you lose well you don't need a fill but than again if you lose alot than it loosens the band............I always wonder how Dr. Baggs figures it out..........like is there a formula or just person by person..........??

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.
