OT: Anyone know where to buy tall pants in "normal" sizes??

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Now that the swelling in my Tummy Tuck is going down, I'm settling into my new size (which looks like it will be a 12 ). The challenge I'm having is that I need to buy pants in tall or long (I'm 5'11") and I have no idea which stores carry tall pants in normal sizes. I knew how to shop for my bigger body and am struggling a little with the new me. I do know there are several online stores, but sine I don't know how stuff fits in the waist I'd rather try things on before buying.

I appreciate any help you can provide!

~Lori

you can purchase long pants, just about anywhere, these days, used to be that they were hard to find, but I think even Walmart has talls now. hope this helps, I hope I get to Tummy Tuck stage someday. Just banded 6 wks ago, so not ready for that yet.

Actually finding tall sizes in jeans is really hard. They are available in alot of pants, but unfortunately the stores don't carry them. The one place I did find was JC Pennys and Sears. Also the Levi store. Once in a while I will find something at kohls. I will sometimes try the pants on in reg. length, and if I like them ,I just order them online in the longs. Good Luck!

My mom is tall (and not plus size) and she gets all of her pants from jc penny's, almost all styles come in tall (sometimes by catalog). Hope this helps!

Talbots, Gap and Chico's all have Talls. Fred Meyer and Penneys usually carry Dockers in Talls. Congrats and happy shopping!

(Just as an FYI. I often find new or almost new talls at Goodwill in "regular people" sizes for a fraction of the cost.)

OH me, me. I am just shy of 6ft. I used to be about a size 18+, now I am about a size 10.

I shop at The Tall Girl, Vancouver. It is a Canadian company, but they have many shops in the US. ALL my pants, jeans and many of my tops come from there. Here is a link.

I also have luck at Ricki's, the Gap and my new favorite shop Mexx.

Good luck, it is a relief to find clothes that fit. Tall girl has sizes from 6 to 18.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
