Anyone getting banded in January

Recommended Posts

Crissy, Have fun at your party! I'm glad that our time is almost up. My Dr. didn't say a word about my having gained 6 lbs since last month. I am getting it all out of my system, so after surgery I can be diligent about obeying the rules and lose lose lose! That's the plan!

Hey New Year Hotties. I am getting my band on Thursday and I am very excited. I have a two day liquid diet that is going to kill me, hehehehe but I will get through it. I am wondering how the others are doing that got there band today. For those are getting banded on the 6th, I will keep everyone in my prayers and wish you all well.

Here we go folks! This is are time and let us doing it right!

I have Dr Moran in Raleigh also, you are getting banded the day after me and was just curious if you had lost any weight before hand. I know he told me any weight I lost would make my liver not as thick. I've excercised some but not really lost anything. 3 Days until surgery!!!:)

Hello Mommaof3boys,

Dr. Moran said the same thing to me as well. Only a two day liquid diet. I have lost some on my own like maybe about 8 lbs. and I also been excerising at least four to five time a week, if I can. We must stay in touch. I am looking forward to Thursday , as I know you are for Wednesday. Did you get your medicine filled for the pain and are you all set at home with your foods. I think I might be but I don't know until that time.

I will be thinking of you and prayers are with you. Good luck!

Hi all I start the Stage 2 diet tomorrow as my surgery is 2 weeks away. I am just worried about being hungry. It seems like so little food. Has anyone done this? I am not sure of the portion size like can I eat a whole packet of cream of wheat for Breakfast or only a half or quarter of it?

I am going to drop the prescription off tomorrow. I have preop in the morning at Rex and then I am set for Wednesday. I start my 2 day liquid diet tomorrow so I plan to go to the store tomorrow and stock up on what I need. I have already bought my Protein Powder and Vitamins from GNC. I'm getting a little nervous with it so close but more excited than anything. Ready to get healthy for the new year!!

Well, tomorrow is the day!! I have officially started my pre-op diet which is one day Clear Liquids so I had a nice breakfast that consisted of lime Jello and Water. YUMMY!! Last night I had trouble sleeping. I go from being totally scared to extremely excited. The scared part is not only about my health which is #1, it is also about failure. I am terrified that even after this surgery I am going to fail. I guess after failing every other weight loss attempt in the past part of me thinks what is going to be different about this one? I thought I was motivated with my other attempts. Anyone else feel this way??

I'm also getting banded tomorrow and I feel exactly like you do. I'm so afraid I'm going to fail and end up right back at 300+ lbs. I'm also scared that I'm not going to be able to eat some of the foods I used to eat, and I'm such a picky eater that it's just not gonna be good if I can't eat certain things. I'm also terrified of the complications that can happen. I'm just all around nervous and terrified right now.

Stephanie and Chrissy,

Tomorrow is our day! I didn't get good sleep either. I am always scared of the anesthesia. Having 3 kids and worrying about them if something happened to me is a real fear of mine. I can drive myself crazy in my own little mind.

Then I thought of the health benefits of this surgery and how it will add years to my life to not be obese. (I hate that word.) I am doing this for myself, yes, but it will affect so many other people. My kids, future grandkids, my DH. If I continue on the path that I'm on, I won't last long, and the quality of my life sucks! All the added pain with fatness, not to mention the emotional pain.

I am turning my back on all that. I am doing something that will help me be the person I want to be! Just like an ab cruncher helps a person get a better work out, this LAP-BAND® will help me eat less! Then because I spend less time eating I will spend more time walking! More time with my kids and hubby. More time focusing on my relationship with God.

Actually I got my daughter a dance dance game for the playstation, and I have started doing that. It's so fun:rolleyes2: and it gets my heart going at the easiest level.

This year will be a year of change. We cannot stay the same after this surgery, and we won't!

God be with all of you who are facing surgery this month. I am praying for you Jan. 6ers! I'll try to log on on the 7th and see how you are both doing!

What kind of class do you have to do njgirl1980? I didn't have any classes to do at all. I just seen a couple of people for maybe 30 mins if that.

Yes we have a name and it is New Year Hotties. I think this was done about the 3rd or 4th page of this forum.

I am getting scared the closer I get to my date which is January 6th at 8am in the morning. I asked my doctor if he drinks coffee, he said yes he does. I told him to make sure he has a lot than for the 6th. He just laughed at me. And said it well be just fine.

Hey,

Hope everything went well for your pre-op yesterday. Rex got me in and out of there quick. TOMORROW is almost here!!!!! I will try to let you know how it goes since yours is on the 8th. I will keep you in my prayers.:tongue2:

In the past few years every time I flew I just asked for the extender when I was entering the plane...it felt better than trying and having it not fit, and having the people around see that, and then catching the attendants's eye when they are trying to get everyone seated, going up to the front, getting the externder and then trying to find ME. Upon entering, the other folks are focused not on you, but finding their seat, and are likely not sitting with you. When I sit down and attach the externder, most people haven't noticed unless they are staring anyway. I had hoped to fly to St. Louis in April - and experience flight after losing weight...but I'll have to wait till next year (too costly right now).

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
