Working on uploading the ultrasound videos to youtube. It's 14 minutes total in 5 videos, so I'll link you guys when they finish uploading if you want to scroll through them. I am taking screen shots of good pieces (I wasn't real impressed with it since the tech wouldn't stop and let me look at it!!) but so far I did find a good pic of the baby, can see his face and everything, and his body is curled up, can see both arms and legs.. weee. I'll post them tonight depending on how long youtube takes, otherwise I'll get to it tomorrow..

To Maintain A Healthy Level Of Insanity

  • At lunch time, sit in your parked car with sunglasses on and point a hair dryer at passing cars. See if they slow down.

  • Page yourself over the intercom. Don't disguise your voice!
  • Every time someone asks you to do something, ask if they want fries with that.

  • Put Decaf in the coffee maker for 3 weeks. Once everyone has gotten over their caffeine addictions, switch to espresso.
  • In the memo field of all your checks, write 'for marijuana’.
  • Skip down the hall rather than walk and see how many looks you get.
  • Order a diet Water whenever you go out to eat, with a serious face.
  • Specify that your drive-through order is 'to go'.
  • Sing along at the opera.

  • Five days in advance, tell your friends you can't attend their party because you have a headache.
  • When the money comes out the ATM, scream 'I won! I won!'
  • When leaving the zoo, start running towards the parking lot, yelling, “Run for your lives! They're loose!”
  • Tell your children over dinner, “Due to the economy, we are going to have to let one of you go.”

And The Final Way To Keep A Healthy Level Of Insanity

  • PICK UP A BOX OF CONDOMS AT THE PHARMACY, GO TO THE COUNTER AND ASK WHERE THE FITTING ROOM IS.

Hi all!

Congrats Laura--a son!!! How exciting is that??? Little boys are such fun! I'm so happy for you guys!

TracyKS, glad your Mom is out and in bandland!

Today I spent at the hospital with Becky. Gary is already looking better--being well hydrated makes a HUGE difference. Plus he is getting nutrition in the IV, and Lipids (fats) and all that jazz, as well as antibiotics and steroids in the IV so they are all finally getting in his system. Terry, they did the colonoscopy a couple of weeks ago---maybe even 3. But now the new Dr. is thinking maybe the colon ulcerated as a result of the Crohns. Nothing is decided or set in stone, he said the first thing is to get his body stabalized and to go from there. He is looking better though.

Well, my DD Manda has made some life changes today, and rented herself an apartment. She tried the reconcilliation, but she said he quickly reverted back to the way things were, and is now taking weekends away alone, and is taking on a weekend job as a snowboard instructor at a ski resort in Colorado, so would leave on Friday night, and come home Sunday night. She said she simply is NOT going to wait around and tell herself he has changed and is being faithful, or that he would be while in a ski lodge alone. She says he is back on the computer 24/7 when he is off, and has no time for her or Kinsey. She said she can walk away knowing she tried everything now. She rented a 2 bedroom one bath, about a mile away. I cannot say I am unhappy. I could tell she was not happy---and I know she wants Kinsey to have both parents, but I hated seeing her give up her life for that to happen. And I hated Kinsey growing up thinking women were supposed to be happy with that.

So........I am heartbroke for my little Kinsey. My Mom is going to take their chihuahua---and if need be, I will take the pug. It will at least be less that she loses. Kids are resilient, and like I say I do not want her growing up thinking that is good enough, because it isn't!

I just pray the hurt is not so bad for her....

I finally got my cards in the mail today. Will assemble my Secret Santa over the weekend and will mail it on Monday--unless my PO is open Saturday, then I might get it out then!!

Well, I am going to go spend some time talking to Rick before he goes to sleep. Will talk to y'all tomorrow!

Kat

Congrats Laura, I bet it is so surreal seeing the baby move and all that stuff!! Congrats!!

Keeping your mom in my thoughts Tracy!!!!

Ready to go to bed myself!!

Didn't hear from the Dr. today. Hopefully tomorrow. Ended up getting only the ct scan of my abdomen and pelvic region, my Dr. didn't send the chest xray script, and then when they finally got it I had to get to work.

Hope everyone is having a good nights sleep!!

Russ stays up all night sometimes, and I get up all throughout the night and notice it.. well tonight I get up and he's not here.. not here.. at some point I got annoyed he turned the tv off (around 6am) so I turn it on and he left a post-it on the tv. He went to work early.. well roads are iced over, all the schools are closed.. so I call his cell & work and he doesn't answer. MEN. So I am panicky, and decide I'm going to have to go to work early to make sure he's ok.. and luckily he was on his MSN messenger.. Can't believe he did this, tonight is the party I'm throwing for my friend and he's going. He's going to be a zombie.

Yesterday at lunch we talked more about adopting. We had always said we want 1 natural, and we'd adopt 2nd. So we talked about it yesterday and still want to do it, but I looked online to get info, it costs 20-30k. Wow?

That could be a deal breaker, can't ask my parents for a loan for a child, and can't imagine being able to afford that, especially while raising 2 kids!!!!

Oh, it's on my mind because I had a dream about it.

Good Morning Folks.

I was up early and got all my housework done.......Yep.

Now just waiting to go into work. I was going thru old photo albums taking out pics to scan. I ran across some from our trip to Canada a few years ago and I was shocked. OMG. I was really that big. It amazes me that my family stay with me thru all of that. I would have left myself years ago. I'm even to embarassed to scan them for my before pics.

TracyKS, Keep posting how you are doing on your daily intake. Believe it or not but that really helps me out alot. I'm even more inspired with your Mom now being banded.

TracyK, I was quiet last night because I forgot to plug my laptop in and charge it. :wink2:

Everyone have a great day.

Make good choices.

ooooohhh laura, baby looks so cute! I might be catching baby fever. We've got 4 brand new babies in my family right now. I'll hold them and coo with them for a little while but then get tired of them pretty quick. Does that mean I'm not ready, LOL?

Good Morning, Violets..

Got up at 7:30 to let Jetta out and then got another hour of sleep. Just finished my Fiber ONE POP TART so if anyone wants to post that on their siggy they have my permission! :crying::tt2:

We're going to look for a new snow blower today. The old one made some weird noises yesterday and then stopped and Bob can't get it started again. It's just a little thing we've had for several years and we've already put money into it this year, so it's time for a new one before the next big snowstorm. We're also getting a car next week for DS. I'll be glad to get my car back finally. He'll be paying us monthly, but a minimal amount and no interest. The best news of all is that they will finally be getting medical, dental and vision insurance through DIL's work. That's a load off my mind. Right now I'm finishing up paying for his last dental visit. We're blessed with enough money that we are able to do that, but it sure will be nice when we don't have to worry about those things anymore. Ethan comes today at 1. He was here yesterday and I had to leave to go to rehearsal before his daddy came to pick him up. Bob says Ethan cried for 10 minutes after I left. Wanted his Mommom. awwwwwwwww I sure do love that little guy.

Tracyk... hope that check arrives today for you! The pics of Macy are sooooooo cute!! She's a little doll. Love the pink jacket.

TracyinKS... how's your mom?

PamELa.. congrats on Susanne getting the subbing!! Any particular grade she's partial to?

Susie..the pics are lovely! Thanks for sharing!

Laura...did you get the video on youtube???

Jane..keeping my fingers crossed and saying prayers for good results for you.

Kat..that sounded so scary about Gary. He will continue to be in my prayers. Glad he's showing improvement. Prayers for Manda and Kinsey too.

Terry..hope you're feeling better today. I swear by the Zicam nose swabs. They've always shortened the time the cold hangs on for me.

Haydee and Michelle...and anyone else I missed. Have a great day. Make wise choices. Santa is watching!:wink2:

Leave it to me to make my life difficult, I finally found a nursery set I LOVE.. the websites I've been looking at had the set for $150-180.. so I found this one place having a sale this week only on that brand, and got it for $80. After that, as I go to find the coordinates like Mobile, wall hanging, etc.. it's a discontinued line! ARGH! I was able to find wall border & extra sheet on ebay, but I can't find the rug or mobile and some other small stuff. What a pain in the butt.. Now I gotta try to find another noah's ark that matches..

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I'm in Houston so kind of near you and had the sleeve in Dec. Down 61 lbs. Feeling better. Was definitely worth it. I hope the everything is going well for you. Update us when you can!

I am back home after my bypass surgery in Tiajuana. I'm post op day 4. Everything went great! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who have not encountered much pain at all, no nausea thus far and I'm having no problem keeping down broths and water. Thank you for your well wishes. I cant wait to keep up this journey and have a chance at better health and simply better quality of life. I know there will be bumps in the road ahead, and everything won't be peaches and cream, but at least I have a great start so far. 😍

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

      2. Doughgurl

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!
