You Know What The Worst Temptation Is?? Those Work Potlucks!! Not Only Does My Office Sit Directly Across From The Buffet Table But I Have To Listen As People "ooh And Aah" Over What Was Brought In...man!!! This Will Power Is Some Real Hard Work!!! And I Havent Even Had Surgery Yet!!!

For me, the magic of the band is that, if you listen, you will know when to stop.

Lets say for example, your at a work buffet. All your favorite foods are piled high before you. In your excitement you grap two plates (less walkin', more eat'n) and stack 'em to the top, add a cookie, brownie, and a soda to wash down the cookie and brownie.

As is your custom, you dive quickly into your gigantic meal, rapidly shoveling away at bits of this and that. Pain, sweat, pressure, VOMIT. Just a few quick bites and its over, the band told you to stop.

Or you can do it like this:

You gather a modest plate of food (preferably healthy) and find a seat. Focusing on your co-workers, you enjoy a nice conversation as you slowly nibble away at the delicious buffet items. After sampling small bits of several items, you begin to feel a sense of saeity, pause, and then continue conversing with co-workers. Your full, happy, and losing weight.

Im not going to lie to you and say I never feel hungry. Everyone gets hungry. The difference now is that when I am hungry I eat a few ounces of cottage cheese, peanuts, fruit (etc) and feel full. I used to weigh as much as 320. At that weight, I was eating two sandwhiches, chips, soda, and anything else I could find in the kitchen, as a snack!. Now, at 265, I couldn't even eat a sandwhich, maybe half.

Temptation? Just do what we fat people are good at and listen to your stomach, you will do great.

I have that temptation here, Every Friday is Breakfast day for my dept. Now if it is band friendly I will eat, if it is not (bagles, bread or dougnuts) I will pass. I eat just what my band will allow and no more. We do have potlucks quite often and again the same rule applies. The only hard thing I really have a problem with is desert I love deserts and will eat them if they are mushie enough but I do try to pass.

I know it is tough. I work at a group home. So there is always Cookies, cakes, brownies or good things to eat & smell. I am not banded yet, but am doing the Liquid Protein & bars. I keep telling myself, this is for me and my future babies. I know I will be a survivor and do quite well! You can too!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
