I lost 2.4 lbs. Happy with that. Can't wait till I am in my 170's maybe next week LOL. I think the Water aerobics is helping. I must sign up for another course soon. Two more weeks to go with this one.

Happy Friday

I weighted myself this morning (Sat) and lost another pound so 179.4 is the new weight) Wow just over half way there I am thrilled.

Last week: 178

This week: 176

Lost : 2lbs

Exercise: 2 group training classes, 1 - 30 minute interval training

I hope my plateau is over. It only lasted 2 weeks, but I had to do quite a bit of exercise to get through it. I use a monitor to track my calories burned and last week I hit 2100 calories burned from just my exercise.

I am really hoping I can get into 160's by January!

Have a great Thanksgiving to all those in the US.

Down 1 lb this week & happy! I've been keeping up with my food journal & have had a great week with my food choices, total calories, & Protein.

Do you think thoughts & smells may have calories? Ha, I'm just kidding, but food...really really good food...is everywhere I go lately with the holidays now upon us!

A funny to share. My 13 yr old son (who wears slims) left me a note on the blackboard in our kitchen:

WE NEED FOOD!

I'd been working hard on keeping a 'proper' amount of food in my house...mostly good healthy food. My family is used to having an EXTREME over abundance of food in the house, especially chips, Cookies, etc.; think serious OCD! Anyways, after the note I did do a bit of grocery shopping, but mostly I rearranged my pantry, put some non-food items on the shelves to take up space, and just basically tried to make it 'appear' fuller. Seems to have worked, 13 year old 'thinks' I stocked up, & he liked some of the new heathier snack choices that I found.

Have a great week everyone!!

I am down 4.2 lbs this week. I think PB'ing on some canned peaches did me in on Monday. I had to eat Soup for the next 2 days.

Exercise - 5 days at Curves

Happy Friday!

Last week 258.0

This week 254.8

3.2 lbs lost for a total of 49.2 lbs since surgery. Aaaargh, so close to 50!!! But I'm not going to sneer at 3.2 lost. This is more weight than I've ever lost before, so I've gotten past the worry that I would get stuck at my previous weight-loss tries.

Exercise - Worked out at Curves 5 days this week.

Next week is going to be a challenge for many of us, being Thanksgiving week. My goal is to get to Friday having lost at least that 0.8 lbs. I'm going to keep repeating my favorite saying to myself....Don't put off what you want the MOST for what you want at the MOMENT.:)

I'm down 1 pound this week, which is pretty good considering I made some poor food choices early in the week. But yesterday, I discovered that salmon won't kill me. I think I will make it my friend.

It is Saturday but simply didn't have time to look at the internet yesterday much less post.

I didn't lose. It was looking like some good losses (234) on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday but TOM did me in and I simply maintained 237. Even though Thanksgiving in coming - I know next week will be better - although sometimes my extra weight sticks for 2 weeks and then drops dramatically.

I am not getting the exercise in. With the time change and some crazy schedule stuff with my teenagers. Things should slow down between 12/1 and 12/19 (my 41st DOB and my 13yos pectus excavatum surgery).

Failure is not an option!

Same.

Was looking like close to a lb loss but then Thursday we ran errands in the city (an hour away) and we had chinese for lunch and dinner wasn't much better. Too much sodium and too little Water equals gain for me. Thought it was weird that it was the same as last Friday tho.

Congrats to all of our losers! WTG!! Have a great week everyone and a very Happy Thanksgiving for us Americans!

188 for me today, down one pound. I am a little nervous about Thanksgiving this week. I am still able to eat more than I think I should be able to at this point.

Have a great week ladies!

I was out of town for the past few days with my students and low and behold I lost 2 lbs this week. Pretty excited - I usually gain about 5 lbs when I go on these retreats!

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.
