Born hungry and now reborn

Recommended Posts

A tiny little girl at birth...just 5lbs but came out screaming for nourishment. My mother said that I was ALWAYS hungry. And, for as far back as I can remember, I never really seemed to have that "satisfied" feeling. Was put on a diet by my mother at 4 yrs old and dieted most of my pre-teen, teen years and adulthood until I got sooooooooooooo tired of dieting and just gave up. At the age of 38 is when I ballooned and continued to year after year until I felt totally out of control.

After being banded and getting two fills, my hunger finally stopped. I am so thankful for my family, my friends, my accomplishments in life. But, this Thanksgiving season I am also going to reflect on my new life and be thankful that my hunger is no longer with me. The lapband has given me a chance to live a "normal" life starting at the age of 53!

Congrats! I know exactly how you feel! It is amazing how your brain gets rewired when food is no longer a constant thought...

Enjoy your new perspective! It truly is amazing!

Thanks, kgl. I am just so amazed at what the band has done for me as far as hunger goes. I get hungry at the appropriate times (every 3-4 hours) but it is manageable. I am so happy to now want food 24/7!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
