One more thing I want to add, the first time you don't lose after banding really is depressing . . . at least it was for me. I kept seeing the scale go down and down and down and then . . . omg, did it go up????

It is so easy to say now that I am almost at goal, "don't worry about it, no big deal." But I do remember how much I really hated it when it happened to me. Hang in there :0)

I just think its awesome that you lost 40 two weeks. I personally didn't think you could loose weight that fast. I had my surgery on the 6th and I have lost nearly 15. Man, that's exciting. Don't trip over 1.5lbs. You lost 40 pounds!!!!! That is awesome. I am waiting to eat food. I am still on the Soups and hating it!!!

Oh gosh,I actually didn't lose 40 pounds in the last weeks ,this is since I started the Bariatric program which is April of 2008,I've lost 10 pounds since the surgery (although it would be GREAT to lose that much lol).

I need to change it.

I was also banded on Nov.03 and I'm having the same problem. People around me tell me they can see that I'm losing weight but every time I get on the scale it's the same, one day I will lose 3 lbs the next I will gain them. I know how you feel so my solution to the problem is to not weight myself until I go to my doctor's appointment on Dec 3, which is for my first fill, I'm just going to keep eating what I'm supposed to and exercise.

Good Luck and hang in there.

Hi Roxy :cursing: !! It's nice to know that you can relate also and we were even banded the same day !! I think I will follow that same suggestion,I think I will stop weighing myself everyday. I tend to get obsessive with the scale lol.

It's nice to meet you and let me know how your first fill goes:) . I'm not sure why they are waiting to do mine in January but it seems all the Doctors are different.

Good luck to you also!!

You may have hit your first Plateau. Make sure you are getting enough Protein grams. My dr told me to keep my protein at 70 g /day (height)and keep the calories up (avg 900 day/month post-op) and fluids up. Still alot of swelling or may be subsiding by now. Exercise is the name of the game twice a day, 2 weeks out you should be walking, nothing else, cardio will burn the fat faster, so when you continue to get in your Proteins and not sugar, no white carbs. The activity will burn the fat first. You are in the healing time now, main concern. let the band get set along with the stitches around it. Walk and walk some more. Soups shakes and fluids.Drink then drink some more. I was banded in Jan 08, down 62 lbs. I've had 7 fills, total of 7 cc in 10 cc band. As your stomach walls thin out your appetite wil increase. Once you start mushies, make your menus, keep your food journal, we have to make ourselves accountable for what we eat and watch over and ask ourselves, Am I tummy hungry or head hungry. Good luck hand in there, use that brand new tool, let it build a brand new way of eating and living for yourself. I see alot of good posting on this website, so keep reading.:cursing:

Thank you for the encouraging email. I really appreciate it!

I tend to be one of those that expects a lot of results right away lol.I get sort of inpatient but I am on stage 3 right now and I feel rather comfortable. I don't eat anything that's not on my list. I'll be glad when I have my first fill. The nurse thought that I had a 3cc pre-filled band (does that sound right)? I've been exercising every day and I really love it,I feel already physically better. I have noticed that I even look at food differently and I look forward to eating. Since I don't have the junk food like I use to,veggies, fish etc taste so much better than they did before.

I was banded on Nov 3 too. I am not doing great either. I am VERY constipated and that has not helped with the weight loss. I get my first fill on Dec 1st....I am ready...I want to see some weight loss...and I have to admit I have been bad about the exercise! There I said it...I have admitted it to one and all! I am ashamed! It is too cold here to walk out side. I am looking into joining a walking group at the school during the winter months. I have to get moving!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
