How are the banded Notorious Novembers???

Recommended Posts

There must be something wrong with me. It is so great to hear how everyone is doing. I have hardley lost anything afraid to update my ticker to add the weight I have gained. Just had my first fill on 12/16 and only fill a little restriction at 5cc. I am scheduled for another fill on the 12/30. Maybe then I can start losing. I have only been eating Protein and veggies. I don't understand how everyone has such great weight loss and I am stuck. :w00t:

Wanna b there is nothign wrong with you ( xoxo) I haven't been dropping and then I went to my dietician and said how many calories am I supposed to take in and how much protein???:w00t: Come to find out I wasn't taking in enough protein or Calories. I though I was doing fine till I went to

Calorie Counter - Free Online Diet Journal on this site I record eveything and I can set my daily goals as far as calories , Protein etc. so it fits me and you can track lots of other things after completing it for one day i was only taking in 400 calries and like 20 grams of Protein.

Don't get to discouraged I hear people getting 3-4 fills before they get that "SWEET" spot.

Hi Novembers,

I have had my ups and downs also. I haven't had a fill yet and I have no restriction. The odd thing is, the day I upped my calorie intake to 1100 calories and ate pizza at the Holiday Party at work was the day I dropped two pounds. I think sometimes I might have my body thinking it is going into starvation mode. I make sure I keep up with my Protein, Vitamins and exercise and even if scale doesn't change, my pants are still getting looser. Thank goodness for consignment stores!

That scares me about the fill, but i'm glad to know you're taking 30 minutes to eat 1/4th cup. That is great news heather  Right now i can eat quite a bit and am not losing at all. I've lost 20 so far, but in the last 2 or 3 weeks I haven't lost anything, so i'm ready to get this show back on the road. :w00t: I almost rescheduled my fill for after christmas, but decided I was able to eat thanksgiving so that is plenty :cursing: I'll definitely take it easy for a few days until I know what I can handle. :bored:

You aren't the only one stuck. The reason you think everyone is losing weight is because the only people posting are the ones who are losing!!!! When you gain weight you tend not to post and tell the world you gained. So don't feel like an outsider. You are the norm.

What a lot of people don't understand is that it takes 2 to 3 fills before you get to the good spot. Until that time, you really aren't going to drop tons of weight. Just concentrate on maintaining, keep with the protein and veggies, and trust me - eventually, you'll start to lose too!

In the beginning, the reason you see such huge numbers is because you're on a liquid diet. Of course you're going to drop lots of weight. The minute you add solids back to your diet, it's only natural to gain a few pounds back, simply because your body went into starvation mode during the liquids, so now it wants every calorie it can get! All of this is perfectly normal!!! So relax, eat right, exercise, and get regular fills. Don't worry about it! We didn't pack on this extra weight in 2 months, and we darned sure aren't going to lose it that fast either!

Make sure that you are eating enough. If you don't get enough calories your body will not drop any weight. Make an appt. with the dietician. You may be surprised that you are needing to eat more. I had my first fill today, which is good, because I could eat!

I had my second app with my surgeon today. Since I have PB (or slimmed) as I cannot tell the diff a few times, we agreed to wait until end Jan to do my first fill. I have a 7 cc band and no fils yet. I cannot eat alot of food and if I eat too fast, I throw up what I eat. i am learning to slow down and chew more. Sometimes if I eat a small amt, I get a pain and have to throw up my food. Is this PB or sliming. I have lost 15 pounds which I am happy with so far.

I go for a fill on Sunday. Getting a little nervous about it because my port is loose. He said that it shouldn't matter as long as it does lay flat, which it does. He only does the fills under x-ray, so I am wondering how much he is going to put in. I am eating everything, it is just I get full fast and don't stay that way for long. I sure hope that filling it will help with that. I understand the frustrations of people.....since starting back on food food, I have only lost about a pound :huh2:

I just had my fill yesterday the same way it was nice to see the band and I had to drink the barrium liquid so he could see that the tubing was in place. The first fill is a tricky one to find the exact spot on the port I had to do 3 crunches to make the port really easy for him to access. only day 2 but the time period of eating has gone from 2.5 hours to a good 4 hours hope it stays this way. Good Luck !!!

Hi everyone! Just checking in. I've lost 20 lbs since beginning my journey! WOOHOO! I've lost 12 lbs post-op. Even though I'm still losing, I feel like I have no restriction. My band is empty and I have to really concentrate or I will eat way too much. I go for my first post-op visit on the 22nd (6 week post-op) and I HOPE that I get my first fill. I've been working out 4-5 times a week and sometimes twice a day. I really, really want this to work but still have that nagging voice in the back of my mind telling me this will be just like "all the other diets." Anyone else feel that way? I'm sure I'm not alone. That's why I love coming to this forum. I may not post much, but I'm here reading and soaking up the encouragement!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
