Welcome to the world of slime :rolleyes2:

Once the food passes or comes up, you should feel much better. In the mean time, walking helps the pain.

Many say that sipping pineapple juice helps to break the food down to help it go through. After a bad sticking episode, I take it easy for a day or two and go with Protein shakes and liquids.

If it continues, call your doctor. I had a fill two weeks ago and have gotten food stuck three times. I just had half of that fill removed. I feel much better now.

Take care,

Denise

You ate a couple of pieces of chicken? Oh my, you really are stuck, aren't you? Well, I could say a lot about why this happened but the important thing right now is to get it up, because it's probably not going to all go down.

Whatever happens, and you'll probably gag it up, try not to throw up from your stomach! You're probably a newly banded patient and you want to avoid doing anything that may cause it to slip.

Good luck,

Judy

Thanks for the advise, The chicken did come up eventually. I did however make the mistake of eating about 2 bites of a banana because i was now hungry. ooops. That was a mistake. Same thing again....

I agree. Liquids are the safest route after a fill. But you've also got to learn to slow down and chew well. Very small bites that you chew until they're a liquid state. Try a baby spoon. Bites of food should be that small.

Most people gulp their food. Chewing at least 50 times before swallowing is very hard to learn but if you choke enough times, you'll eventually get tired of barfing.

I'm really concerned that if you don't take smaller bites, and chew well, your band may slip. Did you go to any classes when you had surgery? This is basis stuff. If you're that hungry, try a Protein drink. You may be one of those people who needs to really stick to liquids for a few days after a fill.

Hi bcarlton, I cannot eat bananas, and I love them. I found it out the hard way, too. I do liquids for 24 hours after a fill then softer foods for another day or two. Getting stuck is no fun at all, that is for sure.

Hope you are feeling better now!

Denise

I am feeling so much better and have learned a big lesson. I chew chew chew and chew some more. trying to figure it all out is somewhat difficult and am doing good now. I think the pieces I attempted to eat were to big. I haven't had a problem since then and don't plan on any others.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
