OMG... I Feel Like A Million Bucks!!!

Recommended Posts

Hi. Just wanted to say that I am feeling GREAT!!! I had my surgery done on September 19th, first fill Friday October 24th, and I am feeling really good and really happy!! I've lost 37 pounds - 16 on the pre-op diet and 21 since my surgery. I went through the usual post-op recovery aches and pains, but now all of my incisions are healed, the gas pains are long gone, I've had no trouble with any of the foods I've eaten, and I have sooooooo much more energy. Clothes that I have not worn for a long time are fitting me again, and people are telling me they can really see a difference. I have not had one second that I've wondered if I made the right decision - I KNOW I did!! Anyway..... I just wanted to post a positive thread. For those who have been banded - I hope you are feeling as good as I am, for those who are going to be banded - good luck to you!! Thank you to all of you who have helped me out with my questions and concerns, listened to me, and supported me. Becky

Thank you for the post,, you are an inspiration. I go for my last social worker visit, then meet the surgeon. I am hoping to be banded in Nov, but I guess that all depends on how busy the surgeon is. I really want to start out the new year with some hope. I am more then ready and each day seems an eternity.. I have to lose 5-8 more lbs before my surgery so I am hoping I will be as successful as you during the liquid diet.. I did one for 3 days when I had diverticulitis and lost 6 lbs so I'm sure it will be fine.

Congrats and I hope you continue to feel marvelous.. keep us posted

Congrats!

That's what I like to hear now that i have done this thing! How long after surgery did it take for your scars to heal, and are they noticable? Thats certainly not a huge concern, but I am curious if they go away?

Way to go!!

Hey MissB, I am so proud of you and your success. I was also banded in Sept. actually the 8th and I have also lost 37lbs. and I feel awesome that I finally have a chance to get this weight off and to be successful for a lifetime. I was so unhappy being unhealthy and it went on for at about 13 years and like everyone else it started off little and progressed into my whopping 263. This weight thing is serious and it has really been a blessing to me.

I am happier than I've been in years.

CONGRATS!!!!

WTG Becky. I'm proud of you! Even with all the crap you had to deal with waiting for your surgery thanks to the hurricane, you have done so great.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
