I too have been stuck and was on 195 for ALL of the summer. I was mad at myself but did not know what I was doing wrong. One day I opened my pantry and saw all of my Protein drinks in there, I had stopped drinking them because I wanted to eat Protein not drink it. Anyway, I thought I might as well use what I have up, since I paid a lot for them. In the two weeks I have been drinking one Protein Drink a day I have gone from the 195 that I thought my ass was stuck to, to 189!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so happy. That is the ONLY change I have made in my eating. Now I don't miss a day and only wish I would have been drinking them all summer. Are you still having your Protein Drinks? ?

If it helps you feel any better, Lucy, I wish I was 189. Heck, I wish I was 195!! :rolleyes2:

Ok, I've got an update to this thread.

I did join WW. I am doing the flex points so that I can eat some things I want and some core things. I may switch to core if it slows or stops.

I LOST 7 LBS MY FIRST WEEK!! I told the gal that the scale was wrong and that I needed to step off and back on. She laughed ... but I WAS SERIOUS. I almost cried right there on the spot. I have been on a plateau for over 5 months. Watching that  scale go up a pound, then down a pound then up a pound then down a pound. I switched things up, I increased my exercise. I did lots of stuff.

The difference?

1) I am in a positive environment... unlike my doctors office, very negative "you're going to fail if this..." blah blah blah ... Here they are excited when I lose and when I had a gain, she said, "Hey it happens, over all you are still down!"

2) I'm accountable. I am weighed by someone else. This would not work if I were at home. I find myself really making GREAT efforts that I was not doing when I only had to face myself on the scale.

3) The meetings, the sharing. Being with others and sharing recipes, strategies, etc, is very refreshing.

I'll keep ya posted if things change... but I broke my plateau and it has given me renewed hope, and energy!!! Just in time for the Holidays too.

Congratulations! I joined WW 2 weeks ago and the scale is finally moving for me too! I think I may be down a total of 8-10 lbs when I get weighed in tomorrow. It really does help to have the accountability and weekly support. I definitely need it!

Congrats to all that are succeeding on WW. I dug out my WW materials yesterday morning, and was very "gung ho", until I journaled what I usually have for "breakfast" - what an eye opener! It wasn't until I wrote that down that I realized why I haven't been losing weight - I can't believe I haven't gained any. The chocolate milk "breakfast of champions" I thought I had to have every morning is a whomping 10 points! Holy @#*^! So glad I wrote that down, or I may not have ever realized it. I knew it wasn't a perfect choice - but I figured I needed ALL the Protein I could get. Over my dead body will I go back to that Breakfast. So, anyways, I'm going to try to do WW without going to the meetings - hasn't worked for me in the past - I've always found that I do better when I actually go to the meetings. But, hey, it's a step in the right direction. If it doesn't pan out - I'll join AGAIN. Thanks for listening. I am soooo glad to hear that WW has helped getting you off your plateaus - I'm on a big one myself - for the last 18 months! Good Luck all - please say a prayer for me!

The chocolate milk "breakfast of champions" I thought I had to have every morning is a whomping 10 points! Holy @#*^! So glad I wrote that down, or I may not have ever realized it. I knew it wasn't a perfect choice - but I figured I needed ALL the Protein I could get.

Here's what is helping me. Again, I'm following Core rather than Flex, but this is a general lapband "got to get in the protein" tip... (Not sure if I am supposed to endorse things, but here goes..just my opinion!)

I love the Designer whey chocolate shake. The scoop of Protein has 100 calories. Add it to 2/3 cup to 1 cup of milk, add some splenda, 5-6 ice cubes, whip it up in my magic bullet and its awesome. Somewhere in the vicinity of 20+ grams of protein and really good. Have it for Breakfast everyday (can't tolerate anything heavy...band is fickle in the morning).

And, I did find these great high protein products. Protein chips (chili nacho flavor, parmesan) and also Cereal (french vanilla, honey almond). One serving has 100 calories and 9-10 grams of protein. A lot of punch for one serving! The product name is Kay's Naturals or Better Balance. There is a website at www.kaysbariatric.com that an order can be placed but some natural foods stores have these too I believe. They are great!

Just wanted to share these "finds" that are working well for me.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
