YIPEE, YAHOO....I've lost 50 pounds!!!

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone!

Just had to share my great news....today I hit the 50 pounds lost mark...as a matter of fact, it's actually 52.1! I am so excited and really find it hard to believe. I've been overweight most of my life and the most I've ever lost was 40 pounds at Weight Watchers when I was in my 20's. When I hit that mark, I just stopped following the program and continued to gain weight back plus some extra. Now, I can't believe that at the age of 45, I could lose 52.1 lbs in 3 1/2 months. I am so totally happy with my Band and I thank God for it's availability to us and for all the support I've gotten from my family and the people here on this website. As I've said before, it's the best gift I have given to myself. Good luck to you all on your weight loss journeys! :)

Lisa

Wow that's wonderful! Thanks for sharing. It is so motivating to hear your success as my story is very similar. I'm 47, lost a lot of weight when I was in my 20s and unsuccessful since despite the endless dieting and excercising. I just got banded 10/10 and although there is a part of me that is so excited it is still in the form of hope and not reality. Congratulations again...

Congrats! You expressed exactly how I felt when I hit 50 lbs! I'm now at 58 and I'm going to do a whole celebration again when I hit 60!

Way to go! :)

Lisa,

I'm Mona and have a surgery date of 10/29. I am excited and nervous and I am hating the liquid diet. I am in Day 5 and am hungry and cannot sleep well. You have inspired me though with your weight loss and positive attitude. What have you been eating since surgery? -Mona ;-)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
