I can't believe I just found this forum! I've been banded for nearly four years, but have really slipped back into old habits. I want to get started once again letting my band work for me, and I know I need support in doing it. Looking forward to getting to know you all!

Thank you! I had actually found my sweet spot and lost about 50 lbs. Looked great, felt great, and then got comfortable. Started breaking rules like drinking while I was eating meals, etc. About a year ago I decided to put another 1/4cc in my band to jumpstart things, but all that did was make me drink more frequently to get stuff through so I could eat... Seriously, it's taking a lot for me to admit this!!

I've decided now that I'm going to work with this thing instead of work against it. Today was my first lunch in years that I did NOT drink Water while I was eating my tuna and a few crackers. Amazing how quickly I got full! :) I'm going to start my exercise slow and build up some stamina again, just 15 minutes or so on the dual action bike. I've been a garden slug for a couple of years and I want to be happy and healthy again!

It sounds like you are on your way. We all stumble, that is life.

I have lost seventy six pounds since surgery in Jan 08. I still have a lot to lose. Having the surgery saved my life. I feel alive again. Best Wishes. I am thinking about doing four days of liquid diet to help with my carb cravings.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
