Chewing and cutting up food

Recommended Posts

I was wondering if it would help to cut food up as much as possible before even putting it in you mouth would help with the chewing. I am working on the whole chewing concept and am hoping I will eventually get used to it and it will become habit..

Yes, you will need to cut your food into small pieces so that you can take small bites. Believe me, you will get the hang of it.

For meat, I also cut it across the grain to make it easier to chew and get through the band. My meat pieces are probably about an eighth of the size of my pre band pieces.

Hi. Thanks to Restless Monkey, I now have a little (3 cup) food chopper that I ordered from JC Penny's online. It is very cute and bright red. It chops my food for me - The other day, I put my turkey and cooked broccoli in there and made a yummy mix... didn't look too yummy, but it was. It is a bit harder for me when dining out - I do cut my bites pretty small and then chew, chew, chew. Good luck to you. Becky

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
