You should be drinking 3 Protein shakes I get Soy Protein shake mix at wal-mart. 20 grams per drink to make 60 a day, then I had my Water and Jello and broth for the first two weeks then on to mushies.

I am on regular food but I love to have a Protein Shake for Breakfast since I don't like to ear early in the morning. I have a small fat and sugar free yogurt with fruit for a snack around 10:00 am

I was worried about the same thing. I am on the pre-op diet now and just thinking ahead about the Protein. I was thinking about the unflavored protein also. Good luck I will be joining you in about 2 weeks in that adventure!

What brand is the choc whey and where do you get it? You make it sound SOOOOOO good with coffee! I am not scheduled for my surgery until 13 Oct but I want to plan ahead! Thanks for the tips, everyone - they really help.

I was allergic to the whey Protein after my surgery. I got AdvantEdge at Wal-Mart. It's inexpensive and good. Mix with skim milk, ice cubes 3 and I picked up Hershey's sugar free chocolate Syrup. I use a good "shot" of the syrup 6 oz of skim milk and 3 ice cubes. Blend till ice is totally gone and it's nice and frothy and cold. Delish.......really

I got plain soy Protein at the Health food store, added that to my Soup and it was good not taste at all.

The first week after surgery I know you pretty much drink liquids. Do you drink the Protein drinks the first two days? Are you allowed to drink skim milk to mix?

I know in surgery you aren't suppose to wear nail polish, are you not suppose to wear makeup or anything?

I make a Protein Shake by combining Opti Fast powder (14 grams of protein; 160 calories) with a scoop of Unjury Protein powder (20 grams of protein; 100 calories [i don't use skim milk] with Water and ice. Mix in a blender. Sometimes I add sugar free vanilla bean Syrup. I drink that in the morning--usually takes me a all morning. That gets me at almost halfway. I think Unjury makes an unflavored powder that you can add to warm Soup. Hope this helps.

Thank you! I should be getting the Unjury tomorrow. I should have expressed that part of my problem is that I can only handle 2 oz per hour. I need something really high in Protein and low in volume. It is causing me to become dehydrated. I am going to give this a try. Thank you for the suggestion. Wishing you continued success!

i just didn't like the taste of unjury or the other bariatric Protein shakes. after a lot of taste testing, i found muscle milk to be both yummy and nutritious. chocolate is my favorite flavor and i usually blend two scoops with about 3/4 Water, 1/2 cup of ice and 1/2 of frozen strawberries or blueberries. that makes about a 8-10 oz frothy shake with 25g of Protein.< /p>

it's become my go to Breakfast if i'm short on time. it also makes for a great after workout shake.< /p>

Isopure!!! I go to the health market and buy 7 of them every Sunday. This drink comes in several different flavors (ice tea, grape, orange and many more) theru have 40 grams of protien, so by the time you drink one of those (make sure it's throughout the day, not all at once) and eat your meals you shouldn't have a problem. There are also "protien bullitts out there they have like 54 grams of protien and you can drink it in 2 big sips) The days I have that I take one gulp in the am and one in the afternoon.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
