Ok its been nearly 2 weeks since my unfil and I have only put on 500grams, which I think I can write off as Fluid as I couldn't eat or drink anything before.

I have been getting more hungry and eating alot more, but I have also been exercising and choosing the right type of foods.

I really want more restriction but I am scared I will go back to being over full again. This is the 3rd time I have had liquid taken out so pretty much this is my spot, anymore makes me not eat.

I had 1ml taken out and now have 4ml. What do I do, do I battle on and give it some time? i spose atthis stage I am happy to lose 1kilo a month, any loss is fine, I just want to be able to eat, ateast something, what do i do?

Thanks Jack, that makes alot of sense. I will admit to knowingly eating icecream when I was over filled and knowing I would puke it up. It only happened the once, but its not a good thing to do on purpose:blink:

I have found that now I actually eat healthier, before I would drink alot of juice and milk as it was all i could get down, now I do eat salads etc.

I have never seen a dietician through my whole lapband experience, where others seem to have done so. I have made an appointment for next week to see one, I think I need some food advice as I have never been taught how to eat properly.

Hopefully I can get back on track

Hi Cherry_Blue,

It is a good idea to see the dietician. I have been twice now since getting banded and I am always learning something new each time for instance the dietician told me the reason why I should be eating protien and that it has to be half the size of my plate and the other vegetables reason you need to eat the Protein to ensure that the body burns up stored fat rather than muscle. I find my trips to the dietician very useful whereas, John my hubby thought it was a waste of time when he went (he saw a different one from me) so it may depend on the person you see.

I know that you went back and got some taken out have you tried getting 1/2ml instead of 1ml? You might only need that half a fill to find the sweet point.

CB.....I have never had to have an unfil...all I can say is try doing high Protein shakes in a blender. Mix them with some fruit for extra flavor and something too munch...bluberries, peaches whatever. One other thing to remember is try to eat four small meals a day of Protein.

It has been a year and a half since my band and I don't get "hungry" but I do get down when I don't "refuel".....and that's another thing I think of food different now.....as fuel for me ....the right fuel for me ...and not as a right of passage as a "meal " with all the stuff......just fuel.

I have taken off 120 lbs. love evry minute of it and will not return to that size again....

Good luck....

Seeing a dietitian is a good step. Let the band settle down for a bit, then think about possibly getting a .1 or .2 fill and see what that does. It maybe that .2 is Ok but much more is too much. It really is trial and error.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
