I have asked my insurance company that question she said there isn't a code.. I was going to change doctors and they told me that they didn't bill insurance at it would be $300.00, I about died:eek:!!! I called my old doctors group back they said all the fills were covered with the surgery... Guess where I will be headed???

After my insurance acted as though they didn't understand what I was talking about, they said that my doctor would have to get a prior authorization just like they did for surgery. I can't see that. I guess we shall see.

Check with your surgeon, because I think most cover the fills for up to the first year with the cost of the surgery.

This is a great question. I called my insurance company yesterday and asked them to send me in writing what is or is not covered for weight loss surgery. And provide me specific benefits information regarding banding, follow up care, and fills. The call center woman was not able to find it while I was on the phone, but stated she would locate the information and forward it to me.

My fills are done in my Surgeon's private office. I have to pay a $15.00 co-pay and nothing more. I do not have a maximum of fills allowed.

I also paid nothing out of pocket for surgery or any other consultations necessary for preparation of the surgery.
