Mid-Michigan LapBandsters

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

I am in the Lansing area as well. I am also going with Dr's Lane & Richardson. I have finished 4 of the 6 week classes that they require. Once that is done I can meet with the Dr's. Can anyone give me an estimate on how much longer it will take to get the procedure? Is there a long wait to have the surgery after you see the Dr's?

Thanks,

Once I got the 6wk of classes and ALL of the required tests/items were in their hands - I had my pre-op visit with the surgeon and got my pre-op diet shakes.

I could have scheduled the surgery 14 days out (because of the 14 day pre-op diet) - but due to work project and a planned vacation - my surgery date was scheduled for much later -

I have felt a bit of a disconnect due to the time from my completion of classes and my surgery - I thought I might get a call from the someone on staff when sometime during this 14-day diet -- but I haven't yet and my surgery is next Tuesday.

Thanks for asking!! things are going very well. I have had my 2nd fill and am now at 3.5 cc's. I can finally feel a little restriction but it is not that bad. I just have a tight feeling in the mornings and not hungry at all when I wake up. very strange because I was always hungry in the mornings before the 2nd fill.

How is everyone else doing? I go for my 3rd fill on the 22nd of Sept.

Good Job on the weight loss!!

I am 30lbs down -- and have had 2 fills (2cc's each) - and still have NO RESTRICTION....ugh!!!

I have my 3rd fill appt next week and HOPE that the fill will help me feel some restriction....

Keep in touch!

Hello all! I am a Mid Michigan bandster! I am on year 3 now' date=' I was banded at Hurley. I live in Jackson. Nice to meet you all.[/quote']

I live in Coldwater. I'm a new bandster, it will be one week tomorrow. I have done well, but had a bad day yesterday with nausea, think I may have drank my shake too fast. Feeling good today. I'm taking things really slow. I'm concerned about getting enough Protein. Can't tolerate the sweetness of the drinks. I am assuming that eventually I will be able to eat the same foods I use to eat, but in smaller portions. Any suggestions?

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
