Vancouver Area Bandsters

Hi everyone !!

Just a couple of notes of interest that I wanted to pass along....

For those of you that attended the last North Vancouver meeting, you heard about Dr. Arsneau at St. Pauls Hospital doing fills for Vancouver Bandsters. I have just spoken to another lady that has seen him for a fill and he confirmed to her that he will take patients that were banded by any Dr. This means that if you are in the Vancouver area and are looking to have your surgery in Ontario or Mexico or the USA an finding a fill Dr was your big concern, it looks like he might be your guy !!! I would probably call ahead just to confirm it for myself but I'm pretty cofident in telling you this news !!!

The sencond bit of news is that it looks like there will be another support group starting up for anyone that is interested. The lady starting it is named Geri and the first meeting will be Saturday, Oct. 11th at 11am at 3339 West 41st. It is open to all of those who are already banded as well as anyone looking into it, regardless of where or who your surgeon is. Her email is geri_webre@yahoo.ca for more info.

Quick add-on.....as usual our North Van support group will be on the 3rd Wednesday of Oct. (the 15th) at Lion's Gate Hosp. I'll post again closer to then to give you all a reminder !!!

All the best to everyone !!!

Patricia

Hi Lyn,

Glad things went well for you.

They told me that you asked to say hello but that I was too out of it...thanks for trying, I was really looking forward to meeting you.

I apparently needed extra anteseptic and was having some trouble breathing so it took me a long time to come to.

I did get to meet Michelle, which was great!

She was a lot more with it than me and left just a head of me.

I'm still experiencing back and port incision pain but other than that am doing well.

I met another woman named Suzanne when I was going down in the elevator, she asked after you.

Does she post on this site too?

Anyway, take care, talk to you soon.

Suzanne:smile:

Congrats to you both on your banding !!! :w00t: Like Doddie said, it helps to have someone banded at the same time so you can kindof compare notes on your healing, post-op diets and keep each other motivated thru it all.

I'm looking forward to hearing about your experience at the next meeting Lyn !! Suzanne, I'm not sure if you'd heard of our monthly support meetings but you are certainly welcome to join us anytime if you'd like.

Michelle...I'm so sorry that I didn't get to contact you before your surgery, things have just been absolutely crazy with me lately, between work and family....but hopefully we will be able to get together once you are up and feeling better.

So speaking of the monthly meeting. We kind of discussed at the last one that we may take December off because of Christmas. What do you all think about it? Personally, as long as the weather permits, I don't mind coming down because I can always do some last pre-xmas shopping, but if it's too close for some of you to make the time I completly understand. The date would be Dec. 16th. So post and let me know and we'll make a decision after....

Patricia

hey patricia, i for one would welcome a meeting this month as I haven't been able to make it for the past couple of months. it's always so inspiring and motivating to attend - especially since i am the slowest loser known to man :w00t:

I might be able to attend as well if someone named Pat was willing to car pool... It just depends on my hubbys schedule.. I will know more later.. Right now if I was asked nope cause I am just to darn tired. LOL well goodnight all I am exhausted after the long painful journey home I could not sleep... So I am praying tonight goes better.. It would also be good to meet Lynn as well.. Us three banster sisters.. LOL

Yes, the 3 of us had surgery all on the same day but I was the early bird & missed meeting both of them! Suzanne is from Victoria & Michelle is from Mt. Currie but it`s nice to keep in touch through the forum & email. Patricia, I would love to attend a meeting on the 16th. I`ve found the last two very interesting and it`s great to meet new people who`ve gone through the procedure & listen to everyone`s trials & tribulations. If there`s a meeting, I`ll be there! Cheers, Lyn.

And I`ve been looking forward to meeting you!

Sounds like we may have a good turnout. Great for the end of year and extra support just before Christmas and the New Year.

Hi everyone :

Just a quick note to make sure everyone knows that tomorrow night is the monthly support meeting (Wednesday, Dec. 16th) Anyone who can attend, we still meet any time between 6.30 and 7pm in Conference room A at Lion's Gate Hospital.

Unfortunately my work schedule has changed so I am not going to be able to attend this month but I have recieved emails from a few of the regulars and they will be there so hopefully there will be a good tunrout.

I hope you all have a safe and festive holiday season and a wonderful New Year.

Patricia

I am still at work for a couple more hrs so most likely will not make it!! I also have 2 years of Strata Council minutes to read tonight as my hubby & I put an offer on a condo and need to pour thru all the papers!! :)

If I don't make it there, everyone have happy holidays and all the best for 2010!!!

Rhonda
