1 Month and...

Recommended Posts

Okay so i am exactly 1 month post op today!!! I am down almost 17 lbs see ticker for exact! Also i had my very first fill today...did not expect to be back on liquids for two day:mad2: but oh well i am so proud of myself and happy to finally get a little restriction running on pure will power for two weeks was wearing me DOWN!

I do have a question is it common to be on liquids for 48 hours after a fill? I had no preop diet and just thick liquids for three weeks post op. Just Curious!

Here we go!

Yes it's common. Apparently you haven't had time to read these boards much. After each fill most surgeons restrict your diet for a few days.

Hey Yayforme, Haven't heard from you in awhile.

The fill didn't hurt any more than getting a blood draw. Mine has varied greatly - week 1 was like 8 lbs, week 2 was 4 lbs, and week 3 i refused to weigh myself since i started solid foods and couldn't handle the diappointment and week 4 was 4.6 lbs.

Technically you are ahead of me darling just keep going you can do this!!!! remember protien first then veggie. And once you get a fill i am sure it will be alot easier, i am so happy i got a fill today and Dr. Soong even did the fill not a PA and he walked me through it step by step no problems.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
