This has nothing to do with my insurance since she didn't even know what insurance I had and had forgotten my phone call to her in which she said she didn't take my insurance. I did sound like she was trying to drum up business but again reminded her that she didn't take my insurance. I'm glad to hear that you have never heard of extended therapy to qualify for Lap-Band surgery. I will call the Bariatric Center tomorrow. Thanks so much.

My psych eval was stupid, I see others saw it as benificial but I thought it was a waste of $1,000 I had to pay because my insurance didn't cover baratric psych consults, but like others said I saw the MD for about 10 minutes, then he put me in this room with 2 different tests, one was the one where they ask you the same questions over and over, it was the dumbest thing ever. The other test asked about food addictions that we all know we already have because we all our obese, they wanted me to follow up with the psych MD after surgery, but I skipped that appointment, didn't want to pay out of pocket again, but I know I had to do it to get my band, and I love my band so I should stop whinning LOL

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
