All I am going to say about it is that when it happen, it was not pretty, and I sure as hell was not looking forward to the OH crap being brought over here to settle again.

I have not got a crystal ball to tell whether it is a real newbie or another alternate ID for someone else. I reacted the way it made me feel-----with dread!

I have since explained my point, and since I do not go to OH ever, and this is apparantly going to be yet another thread concerning them I will just unsubscribe, and allow you all to decide who is real and concerned and who is just messing with us.

Good Luck.

Kat

No crystal ball needed. I know the OP from OH. She's for real and she's not trying to start anything. That is why I explained what led her to come here to begin with.

Kat, I thought this had all been worked out a couple of days ago and resolved as well. The OP and you had clearly worked things out and everyone had moved on. I remember all the original drama surrounding that person as well, and understand your concern, and as you are a moderator, was glad to see that you remembered that and made an effort to stop anything before it started. I think we can chalk this one up to a simple misunderstanding and let it rest now.

If you ever do find a crystal ball, I would love to know where you got it, so I may purchase one as well. I could really use one of those!!

See how that works? I thought it was all done after my post to Kat explaining what really happened. But then you came and brought it up again.

I think a better way would be to come out and ask a newbie to the boards the reasoning behind the question. Turns out, she had good reason. But instead she was not made to feel very welcome. That's the first time I have ever seen Kat do that, it threw me thus... the explanation.

Thanks so much...I found out on Friday that my appeal was APPROVED!!!! YEAAAAAAAA! Now I have to go face my MD 25 lbs more than I was when I last saw him, so I'm trying to work through the embarrassment of how that's gonna be.

Thanks to all for your good wishes!

Sue, don't be embarrassed at all! Your doctor understands and is not going to give you a hard time about it. After all, you don't have your band yet. Most importantly, you are approved! Congratulations! Let us know when you get a date.

Sue, that's GREAT news!!! I'm so happy for you.

Don't be embarrassed about the weight gain. If we could control our weight on our own, I'm just sure none of us would be having surgery. I know I wouldn't have spent $13,500 out of pocket either.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
