Anyone had a PB yet?

Recommended Posts

I did this morning. I was my fault I was in a hurry during Breakfast. I made scrambled eggs for the family but I wasn't going to eat any because I had a Protein shake about 40 minutes earlier. I also had some Water while I was cooking the eggs. Anyway, I decided to eat them and being in a hurry I ended up not chewing very well. They got stuck. I immediately felt a strange pain in my stomach that went to my chest and throat. I walked around the house hoping the movement migh help the eggs go down quicker. I don't think it really helped. About 15 minutes later I threw up and finally felt some relief. I wasn't for another 30 - 45 later until the pain completely subsided and I was back to myself again.

I'm sort of glad I experienced a PB like this. Now I know what to expect in the future and hopefully remembering the pain will help me to chew, chew, chew and take my time while eating.

Let this be a reminder to all AUGUST ALLSTARS to remember to follow the rules and take your time chewing your food. PB's are not fun.

I'm so afraid of this... And yet a funny thing happened at church this morning. I'm on my last days of mushies, been very careful about not eating chunky food, and what do I do? Mindlessly get in line at communion, take a huge chunk of challah bread the pastor hands me, and chew it about four times and swallow! It wasn't until I did it that I went "Oh, man, what did I just do?" Bread, white bread, practically no chewing. Oh, man!

Fortunately, it went down. My stomach seemed a little worried for a minute, but it was okay. I can't believe I was so mindless!

I didn't properly chew a chunk of boiled egg white and immediately felt the pinch under my breastbone. I tried to keep it down, but heaved it up in about 5 minutes. Next time I know not to fight it, since the PB itself wasn't bad. It's not like when you used to throw up and it just kept coming and coming. Plus, no bile burning your throat. All-in-all, not nearly as bad as I thought it would be.

BUT, I'm not interested in doing it again.

I got scrambled eggs slightly stuck on the weekend and tonight a bit of fish...must not get distracted whilst eating...the scrambled egg was a uncomfrtable and only took a minute to clear...te fish was more painful and took a few minutes to clear...no vomiting though.

Must remember to chew mushies even!!

My first PB was two weeks ago. lunch at home, I had a cold dry leftover burger, no bread. After a few bites, I got the stuck feeling in the middle of my chest, yes it hurt... I slimed a few times, yuked up... it took about 20 minutes for the rest to go down. I was walking a lot to get unstuck and thankful this wasn't at work or with others around. My lesson is to really chew well. I find that a freshly cooked burger is ok but cold isn't. I think my band gets looser as the day progresses. I am finding now that even dryer chicken can get stuck. Today is one month since my band and I am down 22 lbs, first fill is in 10 days Sept 25. I don't think I need too many fills to be successful.

I am out of town for work right now and PBed at dinner with my colleagues. No one noticed, I just got up and walked across the restaurant and down stairs to the washroom just in time!!

I am still figuring out what full is like. I don't need to eat much - just not getting all the Protein in I need. I find stress continues to tighten band. I have only had one fill and could not handle any more right now. Kim

Yep, day of surgery!! I do NOT want to repeat that!!! It's my biggest fear!

Surgeon had me drinking a NASTY optisource shake. I had to get down 2oz before he'd release me. Well I heard him say it and thought, heck it's liquid, shouldn't be too bad. I wasn't drinking too quickly to begin with but it was still too fast for this shake. It was horrible! It was really thick and it totally coated the inside of my mouth! Made me actually feel like I had cotton mouth!

Anyway, went down too fast, came back up! Then I had to wait another hour before he'd let me try another ounce and I really took my time with that one. I was getting the heck outta there!! LOL!!

Haven't done it since but admittedly I've been on liquids or soft foods til today when I could start seafood and Beans.

Going slow though!

I did slime when I got stuck the other day. Man did that hurt. I was eating in a hurry. I decided a small slice of meatloaf would be good - um, big check go in the no column! I didn't even feel it coming on. I slimed and had to walk for sometime before everything went down and loosened up.

I will definitely remember that feeling and I don't want to go there anytime soon!

I had my first couple weird experiences. A week ago I was getting my boy off to school and tried a half a piece of grain toast. I learned you don't eat when you are in a hurry.... Suddenly I felt slime come up once then again with the bite of toast. It was strange because there really was no warning except the the slime then it was just like reversing a movie. No pain or anything.

My second experience was the other day. I had company over to eat and he got some exciting news and I must have taken too big of a bite of chicken. I got a lot of pressure in my chest. It was really uncomfortable. My friend said go lay down and I must of looked crazy the way I said NOOOOOO! I wanted some gravity action !!! Well it only lasted about 2 minutes. I was really glad about that.

I have learned never to eat too fast ot not to chew well, that's for sure.

Good luck PJ!! Wow you are already going in for your second fill and I have yet to have mine!

I tried rice tonight! Need to be extremely careful with it. I didn't PB but it did get a little stuck. I'll have to be sure I eat it really slow! Or not at all.....

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
