Help - 3rd Fill

Recommended Posts

I went last Thursday for a fill and went from 4.5 to a 6 as I have not lost anything for the last 2 months. I have not eaten anything or even been able to keep down Water. Well, I suppose it would stay down if I did not feel I had to be sick to feel better. I have a constant like pain in the centre of my chest and I am just wondering if anyone can help me out. They did say to start slow and I have not had solid food at all. But, like if I have only had 2 tablespoons of a broth Soup and feel this feeling shoudl it go away in a few days..

Call you doctor. I just had my 4th fill and i can only sip about 1tbls at a time and I have to wait for it to go down. For 2 days after a fill, Clear Liquids only and sip. Then 2 days of full liquids and then 5 days of mushies. If you are having a real hard time sipping Water then you need to call you doctor.

melady you probably are too tight and need a small defill. Pain in the shoulders sometimes mean food is not chewed thoroughly enough and is remaining in the pouch. by having a defill for a short period of time, the food can pass through. Also, most successful weight loosers have a fairly loose fill. Everyone has their own sweet spot, but 6-8 ccs in a 10 cc band is fairly common. Hope this information may help.

It sounds like you need an un-fill. I had that problem and I couldn't hold down an liquid. Maybe you are eating things that are not agreeing with you. I get pains and discomfort by that. Hope you feel better soon

I have not been eating at all. All this is based on fluids, Soups, milk, Water, tea, even ice cream... nothing. I seem much better today with the fact that I believe it is gas related. I have so much gas that I can not keep something down. So, I have started my gas-x strips again and hope it works.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
