Best options for before/after pics

Recommended Posts

Okay..so I'm being a little obsessive...I have surgery sept 24, start my preop diet on Sunday, so I want to start my progress pics Sunday.

for those of you who took full body pics as you lost weight, did you wear undies/bra, nekkid, clothes??? I'm thinking like a tank top and shorts that are quite tight right now and wearing the same thing each time. I want pretty good pics, as I plan on putting them in my wl blog.

thanks for any suggestions or things you did that you didn't like??

I think I would forgo the "nekkid" pics. However, you should choose something form fitting that you wont be really embarrassed by should a friend or neighbor stumble across them. A tank top and shorts are fine.

You also want to get pics from the front, side and back to really see the differences. The best before/after shots I have seen go month to month. It is amazing to see how it progresses over time. I really wish I would have gone that route.

You know, I was just thinking about how a top down picture could really show the differences in circumference as well but it would be too hard to obtain without a helper on a ladder, lol. :0)

I bought a sports bra that I nearly got stuck in...and a pair of cheeky panties that were, well, not good cheeky holders. I figured that it would be pretty darned obvious as I lost weight. I almost thought I was going to have to cancel surgery because I couldn't get the bra off. Luckily my husband had a crowbar handy! We also took a close-up picture of my face with my hair completely pulled back. One from straight on, and one looking not quite all the way to the side.

I remember seeing some incredible before/after pictures of this one girl. She had a cute little semi-formal slipdress that was waaaaayyyyy too small for her in the beginning. She truly did look like a sausage about to burst the casing. In the back pics, you could see that the wide open top of the zipper was almost under her arms it was so small! As she lost weight, you could see the zipper creeping up, the dress actually dropping towards her knees, and the whole sausage look ending up a very cute little cocktail dress. It was a truly inspirational series of pictures, and a very clever idea.

I took/take pictures of myself in clothes, bra/underwear, and naked every month. The bra/underwear and naked pictures are only seen by me (and my husband). I have shared the bra/underwear pictures with one close friend, but I would never post them on my blog. I do wish that I'd picked something to wear that was more form fitting in my pictures, especially at the beginning. I usually just take the pictures for my blog in whatever I happen to be wearing that day, which can make it hard to tell how much weight I've really lost, especially since most of my clothes are baggy.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
