Surgery real soon

Recommended Posts

Good evening everyone, I am new to the website and from what I read so far I love it, the support and information on here. I am hoping by the end of the year I will be getting my lapband surgery done. I have already gone for my consult with the surgeon and I have my nutrition class tomorrow, my bloodwork/uppergi/ultrasound on 9/15 and my psychiatrist appt on 10/13. The only thing I have left to do is go to a support group meeting and then hopefully soon I will have my surgery date. Thanks for all the helpful information I have read on here and I hope to continue my journey with you.

Hi Dee. Welcome. I haven't been here very long, but I LOVE this site. People have answered sooooo many of my questions, addressed my concerns, and it has given me a place to visit where I know people truly understand what I am going through. Everyone is so friendly and so helpful. Because of this site, I am much more comfortable heading into my surgery. My surgery is Sept. 12 and I am very excited. It sounds like you are almost there - keep up the good work and good luck to you. Becky

Hi,

I'm new to this site. I am getting banded on September 16. I am really excited but things moved so fast, I feel kind of unprepared. Here is how it went--

Seminar July 15

Psychologist July 29

Support Group August 5

Sent to Insurance August 6

Approval  August 14

Pre-op Testing August 29

Nutrition Class September 5

Surgery September 16:wub:

I started with the low carb-high Protein and Protein shakes yesterday. When I go to my Nutrition class on Friday, I have tons of questions. It has been great getting on this site because of the wealth of information. I have had a lot of my questions answered, but I still have a lot more.

I am 233 pounds and want to get down to 150. Success, here I come.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
