Jessica Simpson Hair Extensions

Recommended Posts

Yeah She, I saw them at Price Attack at Fountain Gate (yes, of Kath n Kim fame).

The trouble is my hair has such a frizzy fuzzy texture, that even though I straighten it to look decent enough, it just would NEVER blend with smooth hair extensions curly or straight. I would always have a big demarcation with my hair.

Ha Fountain Gate!!! Classic. I didn't make it to a mall with a Price Attack today to have a look.

My hair is VERY long as it is (probably slightly longer than Fairy's in the pics above with her extensions in). So I'd probably just get them to thicken it up, cos it thinned out a lot when I was first banded and it never grew back. It was super thick before!

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA I'm so glad that there actually IS a Fountain Gate! And is Fountain Lakes a real suburb? Those people must have been PISSED about being paid out so much in Kath and Kim.

Made my day!

On topic -- I have a set of Jessica Simpson extensions, but I'm not a huge fan. My hair was quite thin to begin with, pre-banding, which is why i used clip-in extensions. The JEssica Simpson ones were so thick that they showed a definite "line" between my thin hair up top and this voluminous mass where they started. And they're much more expensive here. Grr.

I was always a big user of clip-in individual swatches -- they look fabulously natural because you can place them all around the head and use as many or as few as you need.

FYI Aussies -- also available at Price Attack! $89 for synthetic, $299 for human hair. I have both. Synthetic wear out faster and tend to get a bit ratty after 6 months if you're using them every day. Human hair are harder to take care of and still get the natural hair problems ie frizzy in humid weather, flat in the rain, etc, but they can by dyed, blow dried, curled etc which synthetic cannot.

BUT this info is all irrelevant to me because I've cut my hair super short and I now cannot wear any of mine!

Lol, annie, yes there's really a Fountain Gate. Its in the heart of suburban Narre Warren, there's no such suburb as Fountain Lakes. But its pretty stereotypical. I've seen filming going on there, but most of it is actually done at Southland, not Fountain Gate at all.

I dont think people get pissed at being made fun of (I mean, there's nothing else noteworthy about Narre Warren, roflmao!). That's the Aussie sense of humour isnt it? I remember watching Hey Hey its Saturday many years ago when they were in America and absolutely NOBODY cracked a smile, and in fact got very aggressive when the Red Symons (on Red Faces) took the piss out of them. The poor things just didnt understand that the whole POINT of going on Red Faces was to get abused by Red or that there was ever a show called New Faces with Bert Newton and that it was a satire based on that. Most Aussies find that sort of thing hilarious, even when they're the one being abused!

That's why Kath n Kim will NEVER translate well into an American show. Sorry, it might be funny but it will never be quintessential Kath n Kim because its all about Aussie suburbia and that's totally unique. They nailed it exactly in that show! But people just dont understand that its a caricature, that we all have these little bits of it in us, but we're not all complete bogans like Kim, lol.

But what Aussie doesnt get driving round in the Barina to get your nails done and have a dimmie down at the shops? And even pick up a few hair exten-shuns at Price Attack!

You look fab Fairy!

She, I think I saw them in Price Attack (do you have Price Attack down there?) It might be worth going in and having a squizz.

OK so I'm going to ask. What is "squizz"? Half of the vernacular in this thread had me perplexed! :crying:

Jachut - what's a dimmie? I love slang; esp from outside the U.S.!!

Southern Americans should band together and start speaking in colloquialisms! A business friend in Chicago likes for me to use our phrases b/c they amuse her so. Speaking of...I need to send her a new one soon!

OK Southerners - have y'all heard the phrase, "ain't much punkin"? My cousin used that one lately and I had no idea what he was talking about!

Fairy - very cool re: extensions! They clip in, right? Is the clip like a barrette?

I'm like Libra - the hair frizzes, esp during the summer. I have fine hair but it's fairly thick thankfully. I may recommend these to a gf tho b/c she definitely has "male" pattern baldness going on. I feel for her; it's really really bad.

Dimmie = dim sim. YOu probably call it dim sum. There's the true chinese version and there's the junk food, sitting in the bain marie at the footy club canteen all day made out of lord knows what deep fried version. They're freaking fantastic, lol. But impossible to eat with a lapband. Instant PB, lol.

I am just loving the word "footy" - it's killing me! The men in my family are all such football fans so it'll be fun to call it "footy" like it's some cute infant footwear! (Football is my favorite sport but I don't take it as seriously.)

Jachut - I like way too many fried foods. Mentally maybe I'll just take a huge leap and say that all fried foods will make me PB once I'm banded!! :tongue2:

Hundreds of thousands of Aussie men would cry if they read "footy" and "cute" in the same sentence! :tt2:

Hmm, maybe that's why I'm not married...b/c I don't know men!!!

Footie pajamas here are what infant-toddlers wear to bed!

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.
