What is your NSV?

Recommended Posts

I have 5 NSV's to share today!

  1. My pants are falling off, and shoes are loose!
  2. I feel more energetic - no naps
  3. Walked around the Canadian National Exhibition for hours yesterday
  4. People are very encouraging; you look great, your skin is great, what have you done
  5. Taking public transit now and walked home from subway; no bus for me!

I have been a little sore, like I pulled something for the 2nd time. These 5 things make up for that! First fill next Monday!

So what is making you happy outside of what your scale says? (I am weighing myself next week)

Kim

I was banded Thursday and came back to work yesterday (Monday was a holiday for all of us in the US). Everyone said "I thought you had surgery last week!" I told EVERYONE in my office, and made a flyer that shows what, generally, got done. (PM me if you want the flyer) Not exactly NSV, but it makes me feel good to know that my color is good and my mobility is normal so there isn't anything out of the ordinary.

I can wear my wedding rings again...it's been a few years since I could stand to wear them more than a few hours. I've had them on for over a week now!

Oh, and all my shoes fit....none of them are tight!

My greatest pleasure so far has been wearing shoes I haven't been able to wear in years! I've had bad ankle pain and swelling as well as knee pain. Wearing heals has been impossible until the last few days.....I can't believe how thin my ankles are now and how easily I slip into my old heels! I almost want to cry my ankles look so thin!

My greatest NSV is the new-found confidence I have in myself. I haven't lost much since the surgery, but I'm down 30 pounds overall and I have never felt better.

Oh, and I'm pulling stuff out of my closet that I haven't fit into in a few months. AND I'm back into most of my pre-pregnancy jeans!!

Crazy as it sounds, my wedding rings have fallen off. I can no longer wear them because they are simply going to be too easy to lose. I'm going to wait to resize them for several months.

1. All my pants are too big for me!!!

2. All my shirts are no longer tight on me.

3. Everyone is noticing

4. I am having no problem working over 60hours in a week now!

I cannot wait until I am under 200lbs just to see how it feels again!

I had to buy a new pair of jeans for school 3 weeks ago and I bought a size too small. Yesterday I zipped them up without laying on the bed to do it. I was so excited I told everyone all day that I got my pants zipped!

1. I had to donate a trash bag full of clothes

2. My pants are huge on me - I can pull them down without unbuttoning them

3. My co-workers are trying to get me to go shopping - for new pants

4. I had to buy all new bras this weekend

5. My PJ's and comfy clothes are HUGE

Two for me: I fit into my size 14s now, and I have been walking about 2-3 miles twice a day with the dog every day for the last three weeks, with very little low back pain.

Keep up the good work everyone!

Here are mine:

1. Fitting in clothes that were too small when I bought them!

2. Finally feeling comfortable in clothes since they now fit right.

3. My rings are too big (I hate having to resize them though)

4. Some shoes are too big (I hate this because I LOVE Shoes)

5. Ordering a dinner out and I have enough left overs for 2 other meals (I am now a cheap date!)

Yesterday I wore a pair of slacks to work that I haven't been able to fit in for 2 years!! I tried them on about a week ago and they were still to tight, but yesterday the fit like I had just bought them!!!

Also, having more energy and being able to walk is great. Except that my dog is on to me and will not go on walks with me anymore because he is too tired when we come back...he needs to lose weight too.

Do they sell a lapband for dogs? lol

1. In April-May I had to buy almost a whole new wardrobe because I had gained so much weight (26 lbs) in about a 4 or 5 month time frame, but now my pants are getting big on me and I should be out of that size with the next 5 lbs!!!

2. I'm not tired during the day anymore!

3. I walked around Disneyland without pain!

4. I had bought a pair of Coach shoes when I was in Vegas in May and got them home and they were to tight....Now I can wear them!

5. Putting my wedding ring on in the morning without lotion!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
