You are lucky, I was on Clear Liquids for 2 weeks, milky liquids for 2 weeks, pureed for 2 weeks, then soft for 2 weeks. YUCK! If I never see broth again it will be too soon! Don't worry about the hunger, after a couple of "fills" you won't have that issue. You are going to be healthier than ever and that is an awesome thing!! I had my surgery Feb 18, 2008 (this year) and to date I have lost 105 pounds. I tried to replace my food compulsion with exercise compulsion. Seems to be working, going to do my first 10K run next month and then a half-marathon! Never felt better in my life! Good luck to you, you made absolutely the right choice!!! D.

Hello! I know what you mean. I was banded on Aug. 22 and I was so hungry too. I know we are not suppose to but I started eating mashed potatoes and grits because I could not take it anymore. I dont eat much and I dont have any pain or any problems at all. Also I am still losing weight! I am not telling you to do it, I was just sharing what I am eating with you! Good luck!

Hi Cidconn22!! Congrats on your surgery. I am in the early stages of the process, I just sent off my packet last week. Where did you have your surgery, who was your doc, were you happy with your team? Take care!!

Hi KyBand! I had my surgery with Dr. Gellar at Norton Suburban Hospital. I had an excellent overnight admission. Keep positive and good luck!

Thanks for the support! I can't wait to eat scrambled eggs, grits, cream of wheat..... Between the Protein Drinks and the blended Soups, that is really the only complaint I have. Small price to pay for such a big pay off. I'm knitting like crazy now to keep my mind of food. And I can only make washcloths and scarfs.....

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
