thought I would create my own account

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I thought I should create my own account instead of using John's as I thought people might get confused when it shows to different tickers. I have posted several times under John's username hence why I kept it sort of the same only added one digit.

Well I am being banded on 4th September by Dr.Copp at Greenslopes. John my husband got banded on the 17th March and has lost heaps of weight and has not had to give up anything so I thought I would take the plunge as like most people here I would lose weight then gain it all back again and more.

I am looking forward to the op and am now currently doing the Optifast stage I must admit this is day 3 and am only now starting to feel better the first two days were really hard(I woke up in the middle of the night feeling really hungry and was feeling a bit lightheaded). Today I feel a lot better.

Sam, congrats on your date-- day 1-3 were the hardest for me on pre-op, then it got easier every day, I was banded on may 6th and my husband was june 3rd of this year-- It's neat to see someone else -husband and wife doing it together-- i have lost 48lbs and he just got his second fill and had been struggling before that he is down 25lbs- for once I am ahead of him-I'm glad I went first-- good luck to you!--Annette:thumbup:

Sam,

great to see your with your own username!

Yeah the pre-op diet was hard for the first two days - I got the worst headache I've ever had in those two days, but it got easier and easier right up to surgery!

Hi all,

I agree I must admit it is getting easier as the days go by (thank goodness). I also ended up with headaches the first couple of days, but hey painkillers work well it was the wakening up in the middle of the night feeling hungry that got me. I have now started eating a small amount of salad at night to help stop feeling so hungry (no dressings of course) and that has helped heaps.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
