Super excited!!!

Recommended Posts

Hello all;....my name is lauren cannon, i am the proud owner of a mastiff named titan who we show in the show ring...i am sooo excited that i had to do a quick brag. I handle titan myself, i get comments on how horrible i do and whatnot...just because i have only been doing this for 6 months. WELL.... Today we had a dog show, and we beat the #2 mastiff in the country!!!! We ended up with the best of winners dog...we are very excited. If anyone knows anything about dog shows, they will understand the politics of things, and being a newbie....it is almost impossible to win with all the Pro's. I beat the PRO's!!!!! I am so excited..ok that is it!

Hey LShelley, how much does your mastiff weigh? I have a Newf that weighs in @ 190 lbs (and he's not fat at all). I'm pretty sure mastiffs are even larger dogs than Newfoundlands, correct?

He is only 14 months right now, so he has a lot more to grow, but as of today he weighs in at 190 too! He got sick this weekend and lost 15 pounds!! He didn't eat one thing, and vomited a lot too. I felt horrible, although he loves the ring, so we went anyway! he is also 35 inches tall too

Thank you...he is a goof ball!! he goes through the zoomies...and runs in circles...he is sooo funny. I also have a great dane and a belgian malinois too...the belgian was originally boarding with me, then the owners called me last month and asked me to euthanize her because they didn't want her any more!!!! So we kept her too....we also have 4 ferrets, and a cat...and right now we have 3 other dogs boarding with us...so we are crazy with dogs right now!!! We have a cockapoo...jack russel mix, and a shar pei pup too. So we have 6 dogs at our house!!!

So, I'm looking at those jowls, and boy do those look familiar. I take it the mastiff is a "wet-mouth" like my Newf is?

I showed my Boxer so I know what you mean about the politics of dog shows. I loved watching the very amusing tactics that some people will go to to win.

Well done on winning its very exciting to get a few wins but hard when you waste time and money and come away with nothing.

The white dog is our great dane, long sob story about her. She is deaf and night blind too, the sweetest dog anyone will ever meet. She is better trained than any hearing dog! Her name is Jazmine. The cat..well...she is a pain in the fanny, her name is crystal. Titan (mastiff) and Crystal used to be best friends, when titan was little he used to carry the kitten around in his mouth gently....then he wasn't gentle any more..lol. But kitty now loves the big white dog...jazmine.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
