Ack, it drives me NUTS too.

I have a friend on another forum whom I also know in real life. She always types cloths for clothes. I smack her about the head everytime I see her.

:) no worries!!! glad to have woken you up!

Jachut - and she never learns, does she? There used to be a group of us that went to lunch every day. 4 of the 5 used "shoulda went" daily. Yes, I was one correcting all the time. How does that not make their teeth hurt to say?!? (Yes I am an anal-retentive Virgo.)

Caveat: I will admit to having some issues with with I/me!

i.e. (that is) Jachut went to the store with Susan and me.

lol omg I get tired of this too. And I too took a few seconds to figure out what the title meant. :)

That is by FAR the most common spelling error on this site. I'm glad it's not just me that cringes over it.

Another stumper on this site is advise vs advice. "I advise you to have the surgeon remove the loose skin after you lose weight. That's my advice."

I'd forgotten about that one; good job! It's nice to see I'm not the only grammarian freak!

There's also: your and you're

Your (possessive) lapband allowed for weight loss. You're (as in "you are") looking great!

Oh, forgot the Southern (American) contraction as well: it's y'all as in a contraction for you all. :)

I have an English degree. I actually get so sidetracked by those errors that I can't even concentrate on the content of the post anymore. So glad to see I'm not the only one.

I briefly thought about an English degree when I was in undergrad. Sometimes I wish I had but in this instance, I am so glad I didn't! Libra-did you, at least, enjoy my inclusion and definition of i.e.? :-)

I learned one of my pet peeves while studying for the GMAT. Farther is distance whereas you further your career. People ALWAYS mess that up! I yell at the Weather Channel people all the time. It's a sickness really. :) (Hush, Plain)

I've seen frusterated rather than frustrated more than once too. There's a few more that I just can't think of right now that have left me quite dumbfounded too, such obvious common words to be misspelled.

I guess my colour, neighbour, favour, grey etc look pretty weird too though. I hate the spellcheck on MS Word becuase its all American and you just dont realise how many things we spell differently here. We have to add SO many words to the dictionary!

And my 12 year old has just shown me how to change it, d'oh.

That's hysterical (about your 12 yo). Countries' spelling differences are an entirely different story than what we'd been whining about before!

All of the technology we have now makes me worry that the Gen Y and younger kids will grow up with no spelling/grammatical skill set! I know that my penmanship had gone to hell in a handbasket with the years at a desk job. <jumping off soapbox>

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
