Someone help just had Lipo today!!!!

Recommended Posts

I had a full abdominal Lipo today after losing 80 lbs with my lapband. I looked in the mirror and I see brusing and saggy skin. I do not mind the bruising and skin BUT I am scared to death that my skin is so saggy that it will not go back. My doctor said it will but it almost seems impossible. I am 28 and although young I have battled weight up and down stretching out skin back and forth. Has anyone had lipo and had the skin go back or does anyone have advice for me on how I can get it to go back I am just freaking out and almost regretting it.....I just want a semi flat tummy!!!

Hi Pink,

I know it's hard, but try not too focus too much on how things look right now. Your body has just been through a very traumatic event and it's reacting in kind, inside and out.

Try to focus on resting and healing, and do your best to ignore the mirror the next several days -- things will get better as you heal.

Good luck and keep us updated.

I was told it takes 6-9 months to go back. With that being said make sure you are wearing your under garmet 24x7. If it doesn't go back in 6-9 months you may need a Tummy Tuck. Julie

Dont panic!!

It is normal for you to see loads of bruising, and your skin will feel saggy as it has been detached from the fascia ( the bit that glues it to the muscle) you cannot even begin to judge your results for a few weeks yet.

I had Lipo to my thighs and saddlebags when I had my FTT and I was really worried about the tops of my thighs - they looked terrible, slim but terrible! It took a good 8 weeks before they stopped looking wrinkly, which stressed me out no end, but now they look fine!

Make sure that you wear your garment all the time for at least the first 4 weeks. I took mine off to shower and then used to rub loads of cream in and give the areas a good massage before I put the garment back on.

It will settle down!

Nina,

That was a great post and a very thorough explanation! It's SO hard not to keep looking in the mirror after PS , even though your rational brain is telling you that this is not the way things are going to look in the long run. I'm having a buttocks/outer thigh lift & buttocks augmentation along with lipo next and I'm sure I'll be referring back to this post after surgery. Glad to hear it all turned out well in the end for you :mad2:!

Pink Soprano,

How are you doing?

Buttock augmentation! You go girl!! Are you having fat injections or an implant? If you go onto www.makemeheal.com you will see in the forums that there is a buttock augmentation section where there are loads of threads/experiences, have a gander there is loads of advice!

I am thinking of having my back/upper arms/waist lipo'd next. Its so flamin' addictive and I sooooo want the coke bottle look! LOL

I really need a boob lift/implants but I cant move past the fear of one of my nips dropping off..........

Hey Nina,

I haven't see you around for a while and am so glad you're back!!!

I had a BL with implants in June, and my nips survived just fine. I love my new breasts, and I know Karey has mentioned that she does too -- Go for it girl :mad2::thumbup::smile:!!!

I'm having a fairly new procedure for the buttocks augmentation. What the Dr. will do is use "flaps" of tissue, that would have been removed and discarded otherwise during the buttocks/thigh lift. The flaps are not completely disconnected from the blood supply, but merely rotated and placed in the appropriate areas.

I'm told that this procedure offers some advantages over the injections in that the flaps of tissue have a much higher survival rate than injected fat -- also I won't have to stay off my backside for two weeks post-op as would have been required with the injections.

LOL -- PS is flamin' addictive isn't it???:):huh2: I mean -- not the surgery, but the results!!!!

Ahhh I know this technique!! My PS developed it for his LBL patients!! Seriously google 'Dr Pascal lower body lift' you will see all about his ass technique!! LOL He does the best ass in Europe!!

So where are the piccies?? Even if you don't want to share you should take loads so that you can marvel at the stupendousness (?) of your new butt when you get it!

I know that the vast majority of people dont have their nips drop off in the bath, but every time I think about it I can feel them shivering at the thought, I swear they kind of suck themselves into my body....

Hi Nina

I replied to you ojn another thread but it seems to have vanished.

Yep, I'm off to Dr Pascal, he is quite a charmer isn't her? Am getting the LBL done this Autumn including the fat flap. Hmmm, hope I end up with the best ass in Europe.....

Assuming I survive the LBL, the plan is to return to Lyons in spring for a thigh lift and revision of my arm lift. I much more unhappy with my thighs than anything else but he recommended going in this order because the LBL result is so noticable.

I had a lot of Lipo done on the upper thighs earlier this year which in my case was probably a mistake as the skin was not elastic and already riddled with stretchmarks. Even though Ive only lost about 50 lbs Im going to need a vertical incision half way to the knee because there is too much skin in width - way too much - and Dr P thinks the the horizontal lift wont give me enough of a result.

I had my arms done in belgium also earlier this year and am quite unhappy with them. The surgeon took off very little skin, they are still floppy, in bad need of lipo and the incisions run down the back and are totally visible from the back.

I remember reading your posts earlier in the year and thinking Dr P is way too expensive, I'll go to someone cheaper. BIG MISTAKE! Seeing as I will now endup paying twice over!

Nina, can I ask you are you happy with your results, happy with Dr Pascal?

Ellen

PMSL at the 'assuming I survive' comment, nice pragmatic approach hon!

Yup Pascal is a sweety, I drove him demented though....lol.... in fact tell him that Mrs Coulson sends him a big hug! I got on really well with him and I liked the fact that he isn't at all condesending.

Yes I am very happy with my results so far, I have say that at 6 months out my shape is still improving, you get the initial WOW and then you have to be patient....very very patient!

I love Pascal, he calls it as he sees it, which can be a shock, but he is always honest. I am sorry that you had such a negative experiance first time around, you must be gutted (and cash strapped!) - who did you use if you dont mind me asking?

I understand why he is going in that order, the LBL can make a big difference to the outer part of the thighs so he will know what he has to work with when you have the thigh lift.

His ass work comes highly recommended! Seriously he is better at butts than bellies, and I am very happy with what he did for my belly.I am going to go back and get some more Lipo, but that is more because I want a tiny waist than him not doing a good job in the first instance.

The hospital is great, but I would say make sure that you INSIST on a pain pump, they can be slack at getting the pain meds to you, when you have a pump you can dose yourself when you need it. I asked for one and they talked me out of it.......big mistake!

What hotel are you using for your post-op?

Wow! How cool and coincidental is that?

Of course, I've already run across his name and have read things that he has written as I was gathering information on this procedure.

To bad I can't get over to Europe to have my ass done by the master himself, however, the exchange rate for Americans is ridiculous right now and I think it would be a bit too physically challenging to travel from the Caribbean to France and back for surgery.

So where are the piccies?? Even if you don't want to share you should take loads so that you can marvel at the stupendousness (?) of your new butt when you get it!

I don't have piccies yet, but will definitely take some. Here's hoping that things turn out as well as you predict and I will have some stupendouness to marvel at !

ROTFLOL Woman!!!! You are crazy do you know that???:lol::smile:

Don't worry about the nips, when they fall off you just stick 'em back up there. The Dr. will send you home with some Velcro and it works great!!!:wink2::tongue::frown:

Hmmm yup the flight back would be a tad uncomfortable, 10 hours sat in the same position.....let me think... nooooooo!!

Whereabouts in the caribbean are you, you lucky devil? I am planning an 8 week trip out there next summer! I dream about moving out there (or anyhere that isnt the UK), I drive my family to distraction moaning about living in the UK, and periodically I come up with insane plans for how we can all move somewhere warm, the kids live in fear of what my next plan will be!

Hi Nina,

I'm on St. Thomas -- where are you headed off to? If you end up in the BVI's let me know, Tortola is only a 45 minute ferry ride and most of the other islands are fairly easy to get to as well.

Don't get me wrong the Caribbean is great and the weather is nice, but don't uproot the family until you have explored all of your options. Some of these small Caribbean islands (such as mine) are fine places to live 9 months out of the year, but honestly most people don't live here blissfully unless they can get "off the rock" for a few months out of every year. This seems especially true with children......... To be quite frank, violent crime is a problem here as well. I mean, I don't live in fear, but the amount of violent crime is way more than what it should be for the population.

I think you are SO lucky living in Europe, and there are some places to live on the continent with a more temperate climate. How about the south of France or the Amalfi Coast in Italy? You have some wonderful options right in your own backyard -- no?

As far as beautiful islands go French Polynesia in the South Pacific is beyond compare. The Marquesas in particular, are some of the most spectacularly beautiful islands on the planet -- absolutely bar none!!!!

Pink,

Are you still out there lady? Give us a shout and let us know how you're doing!

Hi Nina and everyone

Another question, did the TT you had improve your waist size much? Ive had 3 kids and was 14 st 5 at my heaviest so my waist isnt what you'd call impressive. He told me that even with a LBL my waist still wouldnt be tiny that I'd need incisions up the sides to improve that and in my case, he didnt think my shape was bad enough to justify the additional scars. I forgot to ask him about muscle repair.... did you have that done?

Did you discuss the pain pump thingy with him in advance?

The other doctor I went to was a Dr dedoncker. Most of his patients seem to have been really happy with him I must say. I suppose if I had lost a huge amount I would have been willing to swap very visible scars for the loose skin but I went into it expecting the scars to be on the inside not the back.

I mentioned to my husband last night that I'll be acquiring one of the best asses in Europe (as per your earlier post) and he seemed pleased. Hadnt realised at all that Dr P was known for his fine ass-work, I'd have settled for less but I must confess that I am now looking forward to wiggling it with abandon when the time comes.

Have made no plans yet re a hotel. Any suggestions?

This is such a cool site!!!!

Ellen

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
