Addicted to nuts and sesame seed bars

Recommended Posts

There's much worse foods to crave! Nuts are nutritions and have good fat and minerals. Personally, when I crave the nuts (and I indulge without guilt) it is the good fats and satiety that I like as much as the taste.

Oat bran sesame sticks are a favorite snack. And almonds, any way I can get them.

Oh man I love Almonds, pistatchio, peanuts, cashew, pecan.. I don't care what kind just any kind! But I too have to remember a handful is all it takes and walk away haha. I have been buying unsalted peanuts to curb me from wanting so many.

Oh boy, why is it that we crave things now that we have never craved before (being banded)?

I too am craving nuts, walnuts and plenty of them. Trouble is I eat them too fast and I really do suffer.

Anyway when I told my doc that, he asked me to keep away from nuts. They provide a high energy fix but that's about it. So needless although they are a great snack to say I am cutting down slowly :whatchutalkingabout He asked me to have fruit instead.....

Weird.. My doctor told me to avoid fruit for the most part.

wow really?

i thought slimmy you were my husband if i didn't know better & that he finally came onto this site (he's also banded), cause he is a NUT junkie. i have to keep all kinds in the house: jalepeno almonds/walnuts/wasabi peas - the list goes ON. think he traded his chip fettish for nuts.

as far as fruit goes - can't get enough of it.

Nuts are actually really good for you. Try just a small handfull of almonds 8-10 when you crave them or carbs and they will make a world of difference.

I know that nuts are good for you, but they are just so addictive! I wish I could be satisfied with 8 or 10 almonds, but sadly I'm not. Hanging my head in shame, I confess that last night I ate 1 cup of sesame seeds...1 cup. The good thing is, they are now finished, out of the house. The bad thing...I want them or almonds or pistachios or endame or...!

Planters Go Nuts makes a portion controlled pack, it has a mix of pistachio, peanut, almond. I do well with those, as long as I only pull ONE packet out of the box.

That just might be of help...well, that and just not snacking at all! I really am going to make an effort this week to avoid the evening munchies...I have about a zillion sewing/needlework/gardening/painting projects I could be doing.

I know what the problem is, I know what to do, I know I can do it...I just need to do it!

Work them into your plan, nuts are a superfood, they're full of good fats that are good for your heart!

You're well and truly at goal now anyway arent you? You dont need to overly restrict healthy foods. Nuts are great, everyone should eat them (apart from the allergic of course!)

NUT addict here!!!

I eat peanuts.. but I buy the ones in the shell so I have to crack them. I always get the unsalted ones cuz I tend to retain Water.

Having peanust in the shell.. makes you have to work for them.. and seeing a nice portion of them actually tricks me into thinking I'm eating LOTS! It just takes work!

Also... I LOVE nuts on my salads. I've gotton into a grilled chicken with dried cranberries, pecans or walnuts salad. YUM!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
