First I was active duty Army (WAC) stationed at:

('76) Ft. McClellan, Alabama

('76) Ft. Bragg, North Carolina

('76) Redstone Arsenal, Alabama

('76-'79) Wildflecken, Germany (now closed)

('79-'80) Defense Language Institute, Monterey, California (now closed, I believe)

('80) Lowry AFB, Denver, Colorado (now closed)

('81) West Berlin, Germany (now closed) Met my husband there and both my kids were born there. This was my favorite place!!

As a family member:

('81-'86) West Berlin, Germany (as I said, my favorite and closed)

('86-'88) Ft. Gordon, Georgia (I'm a Southern California native, but this place was just too darn hot and sticky)

('88-'89) Husband in Korea, unaccompanied. Kids and I went back to L.A.

('89-'91) Ft. Ritchie, Maryland (now closed, but I liked it there.)

('91-'04) Heidelberg, Germany That was lovely. My husband retired while we were there.

('04-present) RAF Mildenhall, England I really like it here, but I must admit I miss Heidelberg... a lot!

We only knew each other for 2 months before we got married and it's been a very happy 27 years so far. Sorry, I just had to put that in. Anyway, I'm probably not much help as so many of my past posts have closed. I think you can enjoy just about anywhere if you get out there and see what's around!

My husband has been here at Ft Lewis, WA for 4 years. I love Washington. The post is big and the PX is nice. I lived in California before and had horrible allergies and asthma...moving here has pretty much eliminated my asthma!!! I love it here. I wish we were closer to our families in California, but it's so beautiful here that we haven't moved yet :cursing: My husband just got back from a 15 month tour in Iraq in June!!! The only this I don't like about Ft. Lewis is Madigan (the hospital)...only bad expierences there...other than that it is wonderful. Do you plan to live on or off post?

Hi all!

Hubby is Air Force.

We've been stationed at:

Chanute, Illinois~ 92

Malmstrom AFB, Montana~ 92-96

MacDill AFB, Florida~ 96-00

Hubby went to Korea 00-01, (kids & I came home to Tucson,AZ)

Nellis AFB, Nevada~ 01-04

Davis Monthan AFB, Arizona 04-present

We loved all the bases except for Nellis. Vegas is a filthy, nasty place to live. Especially if you have children. We are hoping to retire here in Tucson. This is where we both grew up and my family still lives here.

Hugs,

My hubby is in the Air Force........

We have been stationed in:

Sheppard AFB(Wichita Falls, Texas)

Robins AFB(Warner Robins, Georgia)

Davis Monthan AFB(Tucson, Arizona)

All of these have been within the last 2 and a half years. So lots of moving! We never could get settled in. LOL. I think we are finally somewhere that I think we will stay until he gets out next year. We both decided we wanted out cuz were ready to go back home to Oklahoma. We just don't feel stable with all this moving. So far, Tucson has been the best one. We really miss Robins AFB though. They seemed to be soooooo family oriented. They were always having BBQ's and inviting all the families! I loved it. It helped me make new friends too! I think the main reason I like Tucson best is because it is beautiful here and I got loads of stores right at my finger tips. I'm not use to that at all. I come from a town of 6,000 back in OK. So this was a huge step for me to move where there is over 550,000 people here.

Kitzingen Germany the most beautiful station ever, now closed. :sneaky:

Kaisersalutern Germany. so-so

Hubby at school in Ft Benning then Ft. Lee while children and I lived in VA.

Now South Korea. Which is okay, huge change of course but we are together as a family and that is what matters.

6 years in military more than 3 years apart.

My husband had already been in for 8 years when we got married. He's at 18.5 years now, and I've only lived in CA (29 Palms) and NC (Cherry Point.), and now we are back in 29 Palms. :D

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
