Is anyone NOT exercising???

Recommended Posts

I too was tempted to rage but I have sat back and read and been impressed with greythope's calm posts. I think we all agree that exercise is beneficial. Maybe it is necessary for people with sleep apnea - I wouldn't know about that. I still disagree with the statement that exercise is necessary to lose weight. There are successful bandsters that have never exercised. Success is determined by the individual meeting their goals. We cannot know another person's goals unless they tell us. Again, it is better to exercise but not necessary for weight loss if your goals are more modest.

Mekadig - walking at lunch is exercise. Maybe with time, that will increase - who knows? Do the best you can and enjoy the results. Remember, you have only had one fill. You are still in bandster hell and maybe if your weight loss has slowed, you need another fill.

I look forward to us all reaching and enjoying our goals in the way and at the pace we see fit!

From band to sleeve. What is a sleeve? I have gone from size 22 to a 16 with no excercise, but have really stopped losing so I am going to start excercising, my husband and I joined the gym yesterday he loves to work out I hate it but I know in order to see the results I need I know what I have to do. I have only lost 37lbs banded 2/28/08 with 2 fills. I know I need another fill but cant afford it right now. So gym here I come

Losinjusme...thanks for your last post and proving just how judgemental and patronizing some of you really are. Nice, really nice.

brown bear - just curious - under your avatar, you have 'no excuses'... what exactly do you mean by that?

There's your sarcasm and patronizing attitude again! You know exactly what I'm talking about!!! Whatever...

**warning more sarcasm**

well, i left my mind reading abilities at home today, you said my last post... without you quoting, i took it literally. and btw - i truly am/was wondering what her 'no excuses' means to her... :tt2:

and to be blunt, if you think im sarcastic/patronizing, there's a wonderful feature on LBT, it's called "ignore"...

'whatever'...

I wish we could just kill this thread. Yeah I know if I want it dead I shouldn't be posting...

I just have to say something though. I like being in the June section because we're all in the same place. I feel comfortable there. If everytime I post about a foible I don't want to be told off. God knows I can do it myself enough. It just makes me feel better to share stuff to people in the same time frame. Which we'd happily been doing, encouraging each other.

Sort of like my due-date club when I pregnant. I didn't go on other months and look around for posts to questin people's committment to becoming mothers. If someone on my month posted a question and it was either a ridiculous question or her freaking out over whatever she'd done I tried to encourage and not make her feel like sh*t. Not everyone's style. I had some doozy of replies to posts I made about a few issues and someone seriously told me I didn't deserve to be a mom if I didn't try a natural birth and that I was selfish.

I am not saying those who are long-time banders do this on purpose of course! But I know I see an attitude around here that newbie banders as uncommited and generally dumb. Hence some of us getting our feathers ruffled.

Don't we all know that making someone feel like sh*t doesn't encourage them very much?

You appear to be so hell bent on being angry that you aren't paying attention to the posts. Someone asked what a sleeve is because of my sig, Losingjusme provided a link answering what a sleeve is. It had nothing in the world to do with you.

You do seem to feel you have it worse than others, you don't know the struggles of others so I'd rethink that one. Your attitude is going to make the difference if you hit goal or not. Might be something to consider.

Good luck to you.

Good question. It is supposed to be a reminder to myself of what I need to do. I do not mean for it to apply to anyone else.

OK Mekadig, the bikini's off. I'm sitting here in my jammies actually.

Reflecting on how I know absolutely nothing about losing weight and have no right to assume I have any mettle, you know, I've never overcome any adversity at all. From a yes, you're 26, a 26 year old. Oh boy. Will you cringe in about 10 years.

Funny how when you think like a victim, everything seems judgemental and patronising.

My 70 year old dad has sleep apnoea. Funny how he walks for an hour and a half every morning and isnt overweight. Things that make you go hmmmmmm........

By the way have you ever HAD a baby? Or did all of your wisdom about how easy pregnancy is come straight out of your back passage?

i really think that everyone should just stop trying to guide the OP and being sooo mean.

mekadiq - dont exercise... lose maybe 35-40% of your excess weight, lose most of your muscle mass and be miserable cause 'the band failed you' ...

Sigh. give the poor girl a break. It's her own road to travel down. 35-40% of her excess weight might help her get the apnea under control and then start exercising or maybe she's doing it this weekend. Dear God just leave it. She's got the message - exercise aids weight loss and a healthier lifestyle.

So let's all stop being catty bitches shall we? Original poster and me included!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
