Hoping to push to the top of the 70's this month.

I'm so excited to be seeing some people I haven't seen in months. They are definitely shocked with the new me.

A friend of my husbands told him the other day that I'm going to have to find myself a hotter husband if I keep it up. Not that he's insecure in the least but it sure does make me feel good.

I agree that we need to hear from more of our Merry Losers. Share your numbers everyone!!!!

I think I would like to lose at least 10lb this month. I need to start hitting the treadmill or at least start working out. But I've been getting the worst gas pains this past month. & all I need is a little problem to make a huge excuse haha. Anyway, I'll keep you updated on the weight loss. I am 89lb down so far!

Here's hoping the 8th month yields better results than last month. I only lost 2 pounds last month despite making good food choices. I guess you could say I plateaued. I haven't exercised in 3 weeks and hope to get back next week. My blood pressure was too low and causing me to be dizzy. I have been weaning off medication per my doctor's advise. That is one big NSV though since it was my only co-morbidity.

I missed my goal of Onderland by 08/01. I am still a little over 4 pounds away. Just so I make it by 09/01. I want to be under 200 when I leave for my cruise at the end of the month.

I had my fourth fill this morning. Hopefully this will help too. I have been eating a little too much I think although calories have been between 1000-1100. That's what you get when you are older than dirt, I guess, and a sluggish metabolism. I can't complain though as I am down a total of 131 since I began my wieght loss journey.

Keep up the good work, you guys. We are so much better than 8 month ago.

I am still here also down 50 pds. I have stopped excerising the past 6 wks or so l,been so hot and putting a lot of hrs in at my job no excuse I know trying to get back on the treadmill. Other wise I have gotten a lot of good feedback on my weightloss. My parents keep saying how pretty I am lol. I went from a size 22 to a 12 can't ever remember being that size so that is really a big nsv. Keep up the good work everyone.

I posted this on the other thread but I will post it here too.

Hello everyone, I had no idea this area even existed, lol. Glad I found it. Here are my stats 8 months out.

Banded on December 13, 2007 by Dr. Kirshenbaum in Denver, Co with a 14CC APL Large Lap Band. I have had a total of 6 fills and I am now at 10.25cc's. My restriction is fairly good, although it has been diminishing the past few weeks so I think it is time for another fill soon. I have one scheduled on Aug 26th.

I have lost a total of 110 pounds so far and I still have 126 pounds left to lose but I feel GREAT! I have survived mostly on high Protein and low carbs. My diet consists of mainly baked fish, chicken, tuna salad, Protein shakes, scrambled eggs and lots of veggies. I rarely eat Pasta, bread, potatoes, sugar, starches, and other high-carb foods. When I do, my weight loss stalls so I stay away from them. I am hoping to be at goal by next December.

Thanks for all the encouraging updates. Keep up the great work everyone.

OK ladies, if you recall, I have not lost any more weight since 4/30/08

it is depressing and frustrating. I have a appt. tomorrow and will discuss my options with the Doc. I am still debating on an unfill.

I need to eat during the day (not hungry or slimming) and eat to much in the evening.

but here is my before and after pics. seeing my before and after pics is somewhat satisfying but enough is enough

Just thought I would check in with the fellow Dec Bandsters! Hello!!!

I am not quite at my 8 month mark, will be on Aug. 27. As of today, I have lost a total of 102 pounds. I feel great, and off the BP meds.

Exercising 5 out 7 days. Can't wait to see the results at the one year mark, I hope that I can reach goal by then, but the last month has been slower than others with the loss, but I did lose about 9 inches from all over. So I am happy about that.

Keep up the great work everybody!!

Hey there! Everyone looks great!!! Seriously, we should all be really proud of ourselves.

Ive been in Europe for the past 5 months, So I havent been able to check in here as often as I would like.

Things are going well, Ive lost about 100 lbs, so far. With 60 more to loose. I have done almost NO excersizing, just walking here and there with my kids. When I get back to the states Im joining a gym, so hopefully the 60 more pounds will come off fast.

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.
