haha.. that is too funny about your mama. Yes, they make me laugh out loud and I feel like I am transported in time. i started reading them years ago and went to get 14 last night at Walmart but they did not have it.

Patty!!!

I LOVE that you identify with the books!! I was so obsessed with Janet's books...I got worried when I need the next one, they would be checked out...I told my hubby...I will just be a minute in the library..I am getting the next book...lol...I walked out with 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, and 13!! I would turn it in as soon as I read it! Then I got mama hooked...she's turned very sassy since reading them... lol..she dyed her hair RED 3 wks ago!! She's 68!!!!!!

GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE GETTING BANDED THIS WEEK AND NEXT!!!! I got banded on Friday 9/19 and each day I wake up I feel so much better and stronger!!!

I was nervous too ... but it was the easiest, simpliest surgery I have ever had done!

Tell them you are nervous, and they will give you something sooner to take the edge off.

I'll be praying for you! and waiting to hear all about how your experience, everyone I have talked to has had easy, smooth surgeries and so will you!

April, We share the same date and I'm nervous also. Big day, big decision. I'm excited, but definitely concerned. Please get in touch after your surgery. We can compare notes. My prayers are with you. Good Banding, Carolyn

I had my surgery yesterday.

Man am I in pain.

I didn't think it would hurt this much but what was I thinking?

I cannot lay down without my tummy burning and aching.

So I am sleeping in a chair.

Getting up and about.

Walking as much as possible in 10 min incriments.

I have a Q-pump that feeds pain med to my port area.

But it still hurts.

I'm trying to sleep as much as possible.

I'm trying to stay on top as far as taking my meds.

I hope this gets better fast.

I so agree with you. I was banded on the 3rd. I NEVER had real pain. I was sore like you had done too many sit ups. It has been so easy so far.

Hi everyone!! I got my band sept 25th!!! The pain wasn't much for me at all the first few days. My port area is hurting now though for some reason. I thought it would get better not worse. Over all I'm doing well.

Hating the shake stage! The weight loss is really keeping me going!

I've lost 12 lbs so far including 1 wk post op! :cool2:

Keep up the good work all!!!

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
