i'm feeling really depressed reading you can eat food! LOL! My doctor has me on a liquids only for two weeks pre-op. Opti-fast and sugar free liquids! Bummer ... but it's ok, i'm ready to do this ... so I have three days to go and I'm doing OK!

Well I have less than 48 hours to go! I will be banded on Monday the 22nd. For me so far the hardest part has not been the liver shrinking diet but the Mag Citrate that I had to drink to day and the lovely things it does to you!

Just out of curiosity, are you putting the heating pad on your stomach? I"m guessing you are but it seems strange.

Seems like the day is approaching for most of us ... mine is in 48 hours ... I don't have to do mag citrate ... just the two liquid opti-fast ... I think that's enough! I've done great on it ... 11 days and then BOOM! I was so hungry yesterday! I was stressed ... we had about 8 grandkids here swimming and playing around ... and eating every 5 minutes and I was so hungry! I made it though, took some xanax last night and slept great, getting ready for church this morning and realizing I need to start cleaning up around my computer and getting my stuff packed for the trip to the hospital!!! Yeah! We will be staying overnight before surgery, since it's so far from home, and I have one overnight night in the hospital, him in a hotel ... so, it's finally getting to be real! Praise God ... I'm praying for all of you this week, keep me in yours ... we'll probably all be back on line by Friday or Saturday with great stories! Looking forward to reading each one ... this is it! We are on our way!

Hey girl I am sending a prayer up for you to have a textbook surgery and a great recovery! Don't forget to check-in when you feel up to it.

I had to go back and read from the top. There are several surgeries coming up and I want to wish you all well. Sorry if I missed you the first time.

Hi all,

I was banded on the 15th, so I'm just about a week out and my port site is ridiculously sore and tender. Has anyone else experienced this? It hurts to stand, walk, get out of bed or even sit. Any suggestions?

Also it feels sooooo weird being able to feel it so clearly under my skin. It gives me the "willies".

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
