Thanks Daisy! I guess I just worry about stretching your band out? Can you do that before you even get a fill? How much do you eat to actually stretch your band? I eat about 2 cups. That's about half of what I ate before the band. Oh yeah, another concern of mine is my port placement. It is towards the bottom of the middle of my chest?!@# I can't even wear a regular bra yet because the bottom of the wire rests right on that port. It is very uncomfortable! Some say the swelling will go down and I will be able to wear a regular bra! I'm sure hoping so

I don't think it will stretch the band itself, but the pouch can be stretched out, I think. Ask when you go to your fill appt and see what they say to make sure.

I totally understand! I wish I would lose my weight faster too but it's going so slowly. I just got my first fill last week and eating half the portion (1cup size) of what I was eating before and still only lost 1lbs this week!!UGH!! When I would work out I'm still not losing any weight? Am I eating too little calories? I know I don't eat that much and I dont snack so....I'm not sure why? The type of foods that I eat are not listed on dailyplate.com so it's hard to track the calories count.

I could not wear a bra for a month lol... that was very awkward... luckily it was winter and i just wore like 3 shirts when i went back to work. i had two cuts where the bra went..

as far as eating i have had .. i think 5 fills now. i lost track.... i also had one unfill but am back where i was before it was taken out and i can still eat alot of food.... way more than 1 cup. i do eat less than before usually half the sandwich i used to eat (sub like) but otherwise i can still eat alot. went crazy and had 5 pieces of pizza a couple of weeks ago... I am very frustrated in the fact i still have to really work at it and diet and that is very hard for me... but it is coming off little by little so i guess i'm doing something right. It has to be helping

judeloren you can do it!!!!! can you have a fill and tighten up a bit??? i would think you losing weight would be great advertisment for the dr. KWIM!!!!!

even if it is only 1-2 pounds a week thats is better than not losing or gaining!!!

i know it is easy to say and i am not sure how i would feel in your place. 5 pieces of pizza banded WOW:scared2: that is a lot unless they were those tiny little pieces here in NY you get NY pieces tht if you fold them in half you still have a huge piece they are yummy!!!

5 slices, woah! you have to so be careful on not getting stuck! not only that, but you have to watch you eat. for all of us, getting banded is a complete lifestyle change. we have to choose to eat healthy foods and get in regular exercise; we do have to "work at it". unfortunately, the band won't work if we don't put our part in. when i was going home from surgery i hugged and thanked my doctor, and he said something that sticks with me every single day, "don't thank me, i already did my part. the rest is up to you..."

with that said, i would think we can eventually (and not often) have a bite or maybe one slice of pizza...everything in moderation. take care of yourself and your band. you're doing great with your weight loss!!

Yeah i realized i had to do some work just wishing it helped a little more but i know i am not at my sweet spot yet so there is still hope. The pizza thing was a once in a year thing lol haven't done that before lol. i have basically no restriction, never had anything get stuck or anything. i did throw up twice right after a fill i tried to eat bread and then a tator tot lol. I have no idea what all of the PB ing and the sliming people refer to is. I am terrible at diets and that is why i am struggling and i'm a lazy bum lol. but i've made alot of changes and it seems to finally be moving down again so i guess were good.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
