hi all! i feel a lot like you do fluffy cat. i just went grocery shopping the end of last week and bought some good stuff so i can cook (healthy stuff but i can cook again - as i haven't been so much - my husband has been having take out or frozen meals while i try to figure out what i can/should eat!). i was surprised to find i wanted to cook! then i had my nutritionist appointment last thursday and she suggested another fill - for me that means 4 days of liquids so i won't be able to cook after all! for at least this coming week - my 2nd fill will be monday afternoon.

i think we can still cook and enjoy our food - just in a different way. it's something we have to learn and get used to. it's nice that we have to go slowly with eating - because i find that i savor what i eat a lot more than i used to - and i look forward to it even if it's just a small amount!

when i want to eat something and i start and my band says stop, i find i get frustrated because i want to eat more of what i'm eating - not even a lot 1 cup instead of 3/4 cup! but then i think, well it's doing its job then i feel better mentally.

stress and boredom definately lead me to want to eat. i have the 100 calorie snack pack Cookies and i take my time and have one of those. it helps. and it's only 100 calories. as long as i limit myself to 1 pack. it is a learning experience that's for sure! for boredom i try to distract myself by doing something (can be very hard when you are in that 'i don't feel like doing anything' mode). for stress, i try a small treat like the 100 calorie Cookies or a sugar free pudding cup. i should/will eventually learn not to think of eating in these situations, but i'm not there yet.

oh, and i find almost 8 weeks out after banding, i'm still pretty moody. my husband totally puts up with me thankfully. i agree pridej we have to think of ourselves during this transition period until all this becomes '2nd nature' which i hope it will eventually!

u know i was going to post something about this today.... I have had 2-fills and my first fill came with my band. Now i do have a restriction, but this is truly a mind over matter thing... and u have to workout... My elliptical trainer broke and i am so upset that it did because i can't workout like i want to. I have been stuck for the past month or so. I know there is more i can do at home to get myself back in order and i will do just that but at this point i have 6cc's in a 10cc band and i hope that by the time i get my next fill i will only be able to eat a bite her and a bite there so i can start to loose weight like i want to... i know it might now be healthy but damn... i never imagined it would be this slow... I know the health risk with the weight coming off too fast with gallstones and stuff but this is crazy... just hold in there because i am going to do the same and just start to make better food choices and get some sort of excercise in and or start going back to the gym at least 3-days out of the week.... something has to give.... keep yr head up.. we are all in this together....

I am so looking forward to my fill!!! Hopefully, I will go back to what I was like after surgery. No hunger desires! Didn't want to eat, didn't think about eating. Now that was great.

Barb I am so sorry your feeling thsi way. I am on the other hand the total opposite I mean when I am stressed I will NOT eat, or if I am upset I will NOT eat. I am having marriage problems and yesterday I hardly ate at all which I think is worse my body starts to go in starvation mode  It's a catch 22 for me at times!

I hope things get better for you.

For me after my 2.7 fill I have no restriction at all  so I have to wait till my next fill I guess, I keep saying this is a PROCESS and I have to deal with it is all...good luck to all of you!!!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
