Super Restricted in the morning???

Recommended Posts

HI all! I was just wondering if anyone but me was super restricted in the morning? It seems like I have almost no restriction later on in the day, but in the morning I can't eat anything, it get's stuck, hurts like hell and then I spit it up.

Yes, I am very restricted in the am. I had my surgery May 27th, just had my first fill last week. I always have my Protein Drink for Breakfast and I can feel it sitting for a few seconds before it goes through the band. I save any solid food for later in the morning. I read on here, to try drinking something warm when you get up, before anything else. So I gave it a try this morning and it did seem to help some. But a small discomfort to pay for what the band is doing. My portions have dropped more then 1/2 since my fill. I love this band.

I'd venture a strong guess that most people have a lot more restriction in the mornings. That's not a bad thing, if you have a great deal of restriction your stomach hunger is a lot less so just wait until you are a little more open and if that is at lunch time, kewl beans! ;o) Don't force food down. If you are hungry try a Protein Shake in the AMs.

If you get an unfill so you can eat in the AMs you'll likely be wide open by lunch and more so for dinner.

There are some doctors that fill you at 5PM so you are restricted in such a way that you can't eat solids until dinner time. It's all unique and individual.

YES !!! Glad I am not alone, I too have most of my restriction in the morning that very first sip of Water is hard to get down.......wonder why ??? I manage to get in Breakfast usually 2 scrambled eggs or cream of wheat Cereal but the other morning I drank my Protein Shake in place of breakfast. Every day seems to be different for me. I am 4 months out of lap band and have had 2 fills so far. I have lost 60 lbs .

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
