Driving after surgery

Recommended Posts

I think it depends on how much of the prescribed pain medication you're taking. I was banded 5 days ago, and I drove for the first time yesterday (5 miles round trip). I decided I was ready because I was only taking the Vicotin (sp?) at night and Motrin during the day to manage the slight pain.

In 3 days I was driving to and from work (45 miles 1 way).

Plain

You returned to work after 3 days out from the surgery? Thats amazing. I am starting a new job and I am trying to work out a return to work arrangement with my new boss. What would you consider to be a minimum recovery time to return to a non- physical job? ( no lifting involved mostly computer work)

Well, different strokes for different folks....but if you have a desk job, you'll probably be ok in 3-4 days. The most sore I ever got (and I wouldn't really call it "pain"...more "discomfort") was the day after surgery and the 2nd day out. By days 3 and 4, I felt about 90% back to normal.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
