Anyone know a $200 or less fill doctor in DFW area

Recommended Posts

Anyone have a fill doctor they would recommend that takes cash and will fill a patient banded in Mexico? No problems, smooth surgery, just need a fill doctor. Willing to travel to surrounding area.

Its more than a little out of your way but there is a great doc in Kansas City who is a proctor for Allergan and has done over 1000 bands. He only charges $100/fill, takes patients banded in Mexico and uses the Floro at no extra charge. If you don't find anyone in the DFW area it might be worth the travel.

Have you tried the Surgery Center of Richardson? Have no idea their policy on non - patients, though.

I think his fills are $300, not the $200 you wanted, but I saw in an advertisement that Dr. Carter will fill patients that had the band in Mexico. He's in Arlington.

I can go back to my surgeon, just would have to fly to El Paso, but the price of the flight negates the free fills. Free fills except for $100 for fluro.

Thats why Im hoping to find a doctor here in the DFW area.

No, I havent tried the Richardson Center, I might try and find their phone number and call them. A doc at Presberterian said no, one at Medical City will do it, but charges an extra $100, so instead of $150 he charges $250, another after initial visit charges $200, but wouldnt see me for 3 months.

So if anyone has phone number/contact info, Ill be glad to keep calling around. So far nothing $200 or less.

Thanks for the info folks.

I called them and they will only take me if I am seeing a doctor that practices in that hospital who will refer me, so Id have to pay to see that doctor plus the fills.

Tried calling Carter in Arlington, and got his answering service, they are already closed for the weekend, at 4 pm??!! lol

Yep, but he is the one who now makes you wait 3 months before he will fill you after the date of your surgery. lol.

I feel like a leper.

I did get a office # for True Results and the name of the office manager to talk to directly.

He doesn't make you wait 3 months, only 6-8 weeks. Any credible doctor wants the stomach to heal before restricting it. I use Maese all the time and I also had surgery in Mexico. His office is very quick and efficient and it doesn't hurt that he is really HOT!

Im thinking he doesnt want new patients because he is telling not only me but others he wouldnt take us if we were banded in Mexico for 3 months.

Looks like he told Camel Cracker the same thing he told me, 3 months!!!

Wow... I called Dr. Maese and was told that because I had my band done in Mexico that I would have to wait 3 months to visit him, then my first appointment would be 375, 200 for subsequent fills.... grrrrr!!!!

I have never heard of such a thing. Fine then, just fib your date 6 weeks. He won't know the difference. I will see him next week and ask him about this. He does us Mexico patients every day. I was told 6 weeks after surgery you can get a small first fill. don't see why he would have changed it. His uncle, Dr. Sanchez in Monterrey (Murdered 2 years ago) was the one who brought the band to North America in the 1990's. Maese knows more about fills and does more of them than anyone.

Well, to update you'all, you can cross True Results/Richardson Surgery Center from the list of possible fill doctors. They insist you pay for seeing one of the doctors listed on their list on their website and being referred. I wasnt sure they were the same place, True Results and Richardson Surgery, but they both gave me the same answer. NO.

Its no wonder that Dr. Maese is so overwhelmed with new fill patients he had to start making them wait to see him.

Im still hoping for another fill doctor to show up to get a fill before I cruise, but oh well. At least I got my band, lot of good its doing me.

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
