Almost 5 years since surgery

So glad to hear from someone who has had the band for 5 years and congradulations on your weight loss. If WW is what you think you need to lose that last 20 lbs. then go for it. Healty eating is the key. I try to eat the good food first so that I have no more room for the soft and calorie filled foods.

Cool post! Thanks for checking in and telling us your story.

I am going to WW also - mostly just for weighing in. It keeps me accountable and I am determined to make Lifetime. Gonna get that little gold star!

WW has helped me a lot this time around. I found myself just going up 1 pound and down 1 pound over and over.

If it was up to me by myself, I'd stop at about 180 pounds (cause I would think I looked hot even if I didn't --whoo hoo-- size 16 feels pretty good after being size 24!) and never get to my real and final goal of 155 and size 12.

Good for you and continued success on your final 20 pounds.

Sadie

HI,

Thanks for the post. I recently also joined WW, but I am pretty early on my journey so I'm hoping that it will help me get and stay on track from the beginning.

I'll admit that I get a little maxed as I see several of my co-workers losing weight (it's an "At-Work" program) and I'm still working with my surgeon to find my correct fill level so I know that I will get there, but it does sometime make me feel a little down.

I know i'm on the right path though and recently began a Jazzercise class with some friends that has been a lot of fun so I hope that will help kick-start me as well.

Thanks for the long-term look at life with the band, I love hearing how great it has been and I hope you too can get back on the bandwagon =) and meet your goals!

Alisa

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
